    Hey m8,

Just in case those volts are supposed to be your 24/7.

Recently guys from Anandtech killed their 45nm quad with Vtt >= 1.4v, and they did it very fast.

Just a quick 32M run with my P5Q-Deluxe. Sadly, the deluxe seems to clock FSB & ram better than the M2F. I could not get these settings to pass 32M on the M2F no matter what I did, didnt even have to tweak the ram skews on the deluxe. The NB temp topped out at 47*C too, from my testing the deluxe cooling is better than the M2F too.

**EDIT - the M2F is better than the deluxe at PL8, it can do 534 FSB, 640 MHz PL8 32M stable and the deluxe cannot, but the deluxe can do 541 FSB, 650 MHz PL10 32M stable, which the M2F cannot. Quite strange behaviour. I also found the deluxe does not need any ram channel delay to run my GKX sticks over 2.2v whereas I need 150ps delay on the M2F or it will lock up if 2.2v+ is used.

    541 FSB, 650 MHz, PL 10, 1.44 vNB, 2.24 vDimm

Yeah I borrowed my mates IR thermometer and aimed it at the base of the NB heatsink during the bench.

    Depends what your cpu needs.

    You could try anything from
    GTL Ref 0 -10
    GTL Ref 1 -50
    GTL Ref 2 -10
    GTL Ref 3 -50

    to

    GTL Ref 0 +70
    GTL Ref 1 +30
    GTL Ref 2 +70
    GTL Ref 3 +30

So i tried tha new BIOS..

    The good ones..

    1)PCIE Set to 105 / FSB=500 = Boots OK
2)Raid Works Fine /No HDD hungs
    3)Improved L2 Copy & Latency (Before=33766 MB/s & 4.5ns - After=~34334 MB/s & 3.6-3.9ns)
    4)Stable With my previous settings

    The bad news..

    1)VTT-vNB bug is still here..
2)Hungs on some Restarts and the LCD poster reports to me ''DET RAM''
    3)Pull-ins Not Working..
    4)Speed Step & C-state Options Disappear when applying O/C.

We sould Write a letter to Sanda...all of us.

    Dear Santa,

We want a new NO BUGGY BIOS for our M2F.

Guys, need some help with an e8400 (my e8500 killed itself this weekend).
I can't even get this guy stable at 4.0GHz, and I'm pretty sure its not the CPU as I could get 3.8GHz w/ 1.325 volts and I also had hell getting this board over 450 with the e8500.

Prime Blend fails in less than 15 mins...or the O/S freezes up.
    Temps as follows: Cpu= 56/57 | Power=41 | NB=46 | SB=42 | MB=37

    Any suggestions?

Quick question guys about CPU PLL.

When and how to adjust it? What are the indications of too low or too high CPU PLL? What is it exactly for? (well i read technical docs about Intel core 2 family and I know what is it for but how does this voltage influence CPU and rest of the system in real life?)

Any tips are more then welcome

I can't even get this guy stable at 4.0GHz, and I'm pretty sure its not the CPU as I could get 3.8GHz w/ 1.325 volts and I also had hell getting this board over 450 with the e8500.

Prime Blend fails in less than 15 mins...or the O/S freezes up.
    Temps as follows: Cpu= 56/57 | Power=41 | NB=46 | SB=42 | MB=37

    Any suggestions?
Well I am not an expert but my CPU and MB likes much higher GTLrefs than you have set.

    You could try GTL ref

    60
    20
    60
    20

Which gives around 0.9v GTLref at yours vTT (also in my case keeping vTT little more higher than vCPU helped me a lot - but keep in mind that you should not go higher or even equal 1.4v on vTT to be on safe side with your CPU).

Your Vcore does not look to healthy for 45nm. To find you lowest vcore you can use smallFTP in P95.

Some posts ago there was info about what errors in P95 indicates what voltages should be adjusted - so far the schema work for me prety well.

    Hope it helps.

BTW if it fails bland still on 1024 it is either vNB or vTT which need to be adjusted (thanks for info Dragon!) - that is ofcourse if your vcore is ok and mems are stable in the first place.

thanks, ill try more gtl tonight. the vcore may be a tad high, but if this chip lasts 3 months im happy ill back it down i just wanted to take Vcore out of the equation.

Well, back to playing around with my Q9650. Been busy with work and gaming. LOL!

450x9....this was done about a month or 2 months ago....Just wanted to see it run stable at 450x9

Just today, did some testing for my new 24/7 settings. 425x9....GTL Ref all Auto

Rock stable. Played Farcry for more than 2 hours, no hangs at all...

    Thanks to CryptiK and andressergio

Im testing it now @ 425x9 but with lower vcore and vNB voltages....

No go on the -60 GTLs
Max I can get is 433FSB for 3.9GHz. Anything else freezes the O/S after ~10 mins of P95 Blend. Dropping the multi, still top out at 433

    Three questions:

    1. Does any body know of negative impact/consequences of running high vTT in compare to vCPU. I am currently at 1.30 vCPU in compare to 1.365 vTT and I wonder if this is safe 24/7? Please let me know as I do not know if proceed with extensive testing

    2. I had stability issues running 1:1 mem on 460 and when switched on same settings to 4:5 all problems seems to be gone. Was not 1:1 supposed to be more stable/less problematic?

    3. I got this problem which no body seems to have. It is random. I have some settings in BIOS I boot to windows and when I grab any window and I move it around it is choppy - in very distinct way. So kind of fast choppiness.

Then I do restart boot again to Vista and it is smooth as silk when moving windows around. Another boot or two and again same thing... it is driving me nuts.

    Anybody?

    Cheers

There should be +60/+20/+60/+20 not "-".
