Worst thing we have here in New Hampshire are the black flies and then the Deer Flies.. Those suckers are shaped like a F14 with it's wings in..
They do figure 8's around you and aim for the back of your neck.
We do have black bears that go up to 400lbs but they are more likely to run if they hear you..unless a female with cubs..
Females don't go over 300lbs but they can run 25-30MPH and will kill you by accident.
Also Moose here.. Big Males go up to 1000lbs and dumber than dumb.
No problem unless in rut.
I actually fed a 3-4 year old male of maybe 700lbs a head of lettuce from my hand.. I did keep a 4ft chain link fence between us. He was right outside the back yard fence..He ate the lettuce, I patted and scratched his nose..
Calm as could be but they are dumb and powerfull.
