    EaglePC,

Increase Ram voltage to 2.0v for the Corsair Dominators. Run Memtest to make sure your ram is ok with that voltage.

It doesn't leave you much room for selection of an appropriate ram speed, for most people, you're stuck with 1:1.

For example I can run fine at 534 x 7.5 on the same vcore as 445 x 9, but the latter gives me a wider selection of ram speeds.

I can't game on this board with 500+ FSB, as it makes the games play in fast forward, even the menus etc run at super speed and its ridiculously unplayable. For example if I play a Need for Speed title, the cars take off at what looks like 600 KM/H and you crash almost immediately. it does not matter what multiplier or divider i choose, and changing every setting does not prevent it from happening. At 499 FSB or less its ok. That is also one of my reasons for using a sub 500 FSB setting. BTW my P5Q-Deluxe did the same thing, i think it may be a P45 'feature' lol.

lol yeah, well I am at a loss to explain it. It's very odd behaviour. Perhaps it is an interaction between my graphics card and the board at 500+ FSB, perhaps it affects the PCI-E frequency such that its affects the data transmission between the board and card. My P5Q-Deluxe did it too.

Seriously if i made a video of the games when it does it you'd laugh your ass off its so fast. Not 'awesome you have high frame rates' fast, but 'stupidly ridiculous unplayable something is definitely wrong' fast.

Sorry for the double post, but could someone with a quad (9650 or 9770) please do a max stable FSB test on this mobo using a lower multiplier? I'm very curious to know what it can achieve.

EDIT - I mean stable as in preferably SPI32M stable, but 3D stable, 1M stable, whatever, just post it up.

It all depends on your ram and specific oc. Mine can't do 1200mhz, in conjunction with my oc, i'm stuck @ 1:1.

However a fsb over 500mhz, increases your mem scores also, so it's not a major loss.

Yes. 2x2gb. I've already tried 1200mhz but they refuse to boot windows regardless vmem and timings.

I have the same kit best they can do is about 1150 or so.
I guess the redlines will do 1200 tho or so they say.
My Dominators will do 1225MHz @ 2.2volts but sadly there only a 2x1GB kit.

    2x2gb redlines reaching 1200mhz?

    Have u seen any proof?

If i was to go with 2x1gb, i would stick with my Cellshock pc8000 which could do 1260, but vista and 2gb is a no go...

I havent seen any hard proof and cant recall what forum the claim was made on .
I'll see if I can hunt down a screen shot or similar.

currently my desktop is running fine in RAID-0. do i still need to install the "chipset update program" or "Matrix storage Manager driver"? what utilizes these two things? from my understanding, it's just for RAID and AHCI right?

Can anyone get the 1:2 divider working? I cannot get it to even boot using 1:2 divider no matter what voltages/PL etc I set. I think the divider is broken. I'm using BIOS 1307, I've tried the older BIOSES and the 1:2 divider is broken on those too.

I can boot at 650 - 700+ MHz on the ram on the 2:3 divider.

Here we are friends of mercy Tha same as you Cryptic : gat a lot of DDR2 to test on this board and nothin' over 650 at this time !! Yuc!!

Some GEIL PC8500 are comin', so I'll try to push them up over 700, even with the Commando which is with them

A question about Crossfire please :

Gat a 4870 and a 4850, so want to test Crossfire, but nothing happen when I enable it in the CCC

Is it real that I should put the 4870 on the second slot, plug the screen there and put the second GPU on the first slot ??

Something to change in the bios too : PEG/PCI or PCI/PEG ??

Don't know how to do and even thought gat to change the way of installing my rads to one or other configuration...

That's why I'm asking cus' I don't want to waste any time whith this rads installation

EDIT : So it was that to get the CrossX I must put the 4870 in the second slot and the 4850 in the first (we should know that )

    That's nice !!! Tryin' to bench 3D harder now !! @3,6 2k more for 3DM05 & even better at 06 ^^

Sorry I can't help you with the crossfire issue.

About the divider problem, have you ever got the board to boot/run with the 1:2 divider?

I have got 666 MHz on the 2:3 divider, but nothing I do will get the board to boot with 1:2.

What the hell is the problem with Asus. This is very poor, especially for a 'ROG' board.
    this is really annoying ...

Well I can boot on the 200 strap @ 391 FSB, Ram @ 666 MHz using 2.29 vdimm, it's not stable enough to run any benches, and getting into windows at anything higher is difficult. Even if I increase vdimm to 2.33v, it does nothing for stability at 666 MHz. I have tried altering NB DDR Ref voltage & DDR2 Channel A/B Ref Voltage up to +150mv & -100mv with no differences observed in stability at max bootable speed (666 MHz) and no increase in max bootable speed.

I think there should be a ram driving strength setting to assist stabilize high ram clocks. I think the option 'ram OC charger' is a drive strength setting (but it can only be enabled or disabled, which is too coarse & perhaps enabled is not strong enough), as I cannot load windows at more than 605 MHz with it disabled. This has never been confirmed by anyone though, it's just my personal speculation.

    I have finally gotten my rig stable @ 4ghz! Vcore @1.352 mem 400mhz strap @ 942 mghz.

    Q9550 2.83 ghz @ 4.02 ghz
    4 x 1GB Patriot DDR2 1200

All voltages on auto except Vcore and mem. meme is set to 2.0 volts. Loadline enabled and all spread spectrums disabled. Speed stepping enabled. 18888 marks on 3dmark 2006 and 12999 GPU score on 3D mark vantage. Intel burn test stable with 100 passes. Prime 95 stable 8 hours. I think its good to go.

Throwing all the games I have at it now it now to make sure it is reliable.

Just quick question - what are acceptable temperatures for SB NB and Power. In stress I am heating around 46 on all (all VOLT settings on lowest possible in bios ATM)- and I got this damn MB sensor which shows 55 - 60 for most of time even in BIOS right after the start first boot of PC. I wrote to ASUS support but they do not know where MB is ... but they are checking it for me with engineers. I got few days left to return MF2 and get refund hope that ASUS will make it before that day because otherwise I will return in just in case.

And also what are acceptable temperatures for q9550 (e0) in stress for 24/7.

I am currently at 3.8 but hitting 61C in P95 at 1.21vcore ... it looks to me like there is something wrong with my temps .

I lapped CPU and HSF and no changes. I will reseat HSF today but it does not look good.
