that's right! let this machine fold! make up for the lost time. haha. wow 4 times! quite productive! gratz man. hhaha. i think i'll stop at 2, already a complete set anyways.
HEY man congrats indeed I had my 3rd little one 3 months ago. Don't worry you can always sleeve while she is in labor, just be sure to put the tools in the "go" bag along with her labor stuff Another thought when the doctor says " Sir would you like to cut the cord?" you can tell em you're ready She may not find that very funny though.

hi Detale! those are uv ace fans i got from ppc. i have to warn you though, at full rpm these guys are loud! but with undervolting/fan controller you can find the sweet spot for noise-perf ratio.

haha. i will never look at the tube cutter the same way again.

thanks man. i hope they do consider... haha... i don't mind receiving those wonderful blocks (especially if i get to keep them). :P

haha! i think my wife will just jump out of bed and start strangling me with those sleeved cables... even if she's under anesthetics.

    temp sensor mod

finally got to work on this idea that i have been toying in my head... hope it works:

take a bitspower temperature sensor fitting

and a temperature sensor with an lcd readout

finally, an asus temperature sensor (for onboard mobo temp meters)

    a bit of soldering

    finished product

hopefully, when i put the bitspower temp sensor with the loop - i can see the temp reading in 3 display output:
    (1) lcd readout - which i can see from the side panel,
    (2) mobo/everest/asus software - from monitor
    (3) *optional 5.25 bay device - from the front

yes, i would like to be constantly consoled that all the hardwork i put in wc'ing is so much worth the temp gains... or rather loss.

haha. but it's a great idea right? bombard yourself with temp readings!

not yet, would test first thing when i have assembled the loop. right now in the thick of case mods. ...metalwork (my weakness!). i'll let you know how it goes, but you do let me know as well if you get it in your loop earlier.

haha. so true. that's why i stay up late up to early mornings just to do my stuff. end up sleepy during workhours.

the case (part 1): cuts... nibbles

had to rush finalizing the case, especially the painting

1, my wife will be starting to work from home and the paint fumes would be bad
2, it hasn't been raining lately here, must take advantage of the sun!
3, i have to finish the build before my bday next week!

i know i'd be breaking the standards of xs with a crappy case prep, but a rookie is entitled to mistakes, yes? anyways, i think there won't be anyone more disappointed than myself... *sigh*

    anyways, here it goes...

disassembled case, with markings for where the mobo was, masked and drew where i plan to cut holes for added ventilation/access on the back of the mobo

cut... more like nibbled by the nibbling tool. whoa! lion was hiding behind all along!

after some mock-ups, i realized that the wires from psu can't be hidden under the mobo, clearance provided by the raisers weren't enough. so i nibbled another hole for wire management

the strip with drill holes beside it, are for the res

removed the mesh on top for the 360 rad

nibbled the bottom to have hole for the 240 rad

the case (part 2): mock up

before i started priming the case, i did a quick mock up on how the components would be mounted. to make sure i would have less cuttings to do after painting.

the top rad with 3 scythes for pulling the air out

saw that i to adjust/file the 2 screw holes for the fan near the back of the case

checking the clearance, if ever i decide to go push-pull config for the top rad

the bottom rad with no fans!?

there they are... at the bottom of the case configured to push air into the case.
was actually thinking of pull config, but i think i'd be scolded and lectured on the physics of air...

another view at the bottom with 2 scythes. initially thought of putting the zalman zmf3 rls there for the bling effect,
but i decided go with function rather than form especially if the pumps are close to the rad

    mobo tray view

    back view

uneven on the top front part, thankfully it would be covered by the cosmos console

    extras: hd drive bay parts

the bdrom drive... hope it still works after this..

all the sleeves i got from ppc. they're the techflex pet brand.
1/8" for the single wires (ie atx cables, pcie cables)
1/4" for the fan wires (or anything that's too fat to fit in the 1/8")
    3/8" for the sata cables

good luck and have fun modding! ... and of course, share your masterpiece here in xs.

    suggestions: fan control

was hoping to get your opinion guys...

if i do a push-pull config on both of the rads - that would mean 10 fans (scythe sflex g's)
what would be a good alternative to control these 10 fans? considering i already have 1 nzxt fan controller with 5 headers...

a, 1 fan controller channel per fan?
b, solder/daisy chain the fans into groups and put in 1 fan controller channel per group? how many fans per channel?

    thanks for the help.

    new acquisitions for the project

some new additions to the project.

    nzxt sentry lx fan controller

    western digital velociraptor

i like the first version better... but i had to have this - the normal sata port placement... so my old 300gb one, boxed and retired

    creative titanium x-fi
had to forgo with the asus d2x because it's too long, hits the nb wb

    Nice work bianco

I see you've got the NZXT Sentry LX, I wonder if you can change the colours on the screen to red or another colour.
