Hmm, I thought only Everest offered that so far. I've checked Rivaturner and do not see such an option.

From figures it preforms quite well when compared to other HD 4870 models.

edit: Just Intalled the powercolor HD4850 PCS+ , no doubt is one of the quietest cards i ever tested (if not the quietest ), even with fan Speed 75%

    default Fan speed = 32% , Idle Temp = 47º

FULL ( Crysis Benchmark) automátic fan speed = 75º

    Fan speed @ 75% , Idle temp = 41º

    Question

Does HIS make ATI cards for Powercolor? I just checked my new card with GPU-Z and it shows that it´s a HIS(1787) card.

my powercolor HD4870 PCS+ is same thing !

    btw.

i flashed Powercolor HD4870 PCS+ few minutos ago with new Powercolor PCS+ bios !

no more strange noise when card is IDLE/2D with the Fan speed 2%

Now with new Bios the Fan speed in Idle/2D = 7% (53º Idle)

with new Bios max temp = 70º/71º with automatic fan speed (Atitool & Crysis Bench)

Fan speed in Full/3D = 43% most of the time :

    55º - 60º >>> Fan speed 32%

    61º - 70º >> Fan speed 43%

    71º >> Fan speed 74%

when card reach 71º the fan speed = 74% ( only few seconds untill the temperature went down again to 70º )

    atitool 3D

    Crysis Benchmark

If it is a product of HIS, one can trust the quality and the fan was very noisy.
My is under water and idles at 36~37°c and at load 41~43°c.
I will be modding the bios later in the day. Masacras why is your bandwidth just 64GB/S while my is at 121.6GB/S?

    cause that 64gb/s is @ 500mhz ram clock. 500mhzx4x256bit/8bit=64GB/s

Shocker003 could you measure the hole spacing/size of the VRM sink?

I want to get a replacement when my card arrives, i have heard that the maybe the Thermalright HR-09U Type 2 fits.

Two quick questions, does the Powercolor 4850 overclock better than the reference cooler models? Does it still use the reference PCB? Thanks.

Powercolor HD4850 512Mb PCS+ is great card , personally i think is the best HD4850 (and the quietest one) and only cost +10$/13$ than the reference version !

is anyone reviewing the 1gb ver of the powercolor? its 20 bucks over the 512 model

and what is the general consensus of 1gb vs 512mb? is it only effective at 1920+ resolution? or is it not effective at all? i know G92 did not gain anything from the 1gb of memory, but would the R770's be the same?
