afaik you can disable one gpu in the driver without restart (at least my 3870s do) to play older games, and ALL older games work with excellent framerates and high resolutions on a 4870 1gb

old game not supportet is one of the worst arguments i've ever hear because CF has been around for 3 years and i'm sure that they didn't drop CF support from any game they added in these 3 years...

BTW: even without support 95% of all old games run on CF enabled systems without IQ issues or perforrmance drops
