Under load the voltage should be dropping close to the value you have set.

Got a question, running a Q9XX0 chip and when I set Vtt and Vcore in bios 05/21/08 my settings always read a bit higher than the actual set voltage in bios, ie; if I set 1.2650v for the cpu I get 1.29v bios and 1.31v SG. Vtt, 1.26v set, 1.29v bios. Anyone having thrown a meter on the board running this bios that confirm or give any insight into this?

I am getting a bit too old to be trying to take measurements on the board with a dmm, as I would between my bad eyes and not so steady hands blow the darn thing up.

+1 to what Praz said. I believe that 5/21 overvolted Vcore by 0.04v but don't take my words, I think it was do to my crappy multimeter. I checked Vcore on 3/17 BIOS using a good DMM.

How close was it on 03/17? Having a problem ironing out GTL's is why I ask...NM didn't see the voltages in the bottom.

Nothing besides reported voltages that I can see. 05/02 seems to reports volts a tad lower than 05/21. They clock the same for me on the quad I am testing.

For my E8500 05/02 is rock solid. But 05/21 does seem to be a bit hit and miss, and in fact i have never been able to get it to run more than 9hrs in Prime blend. 05/02 runs all day long no problem, go figure.

I would'nt bother with it if i were you. It dos'nt lower temps, and more than likely blocks the flow of air through the case.

I take it there are no weird compatibility issues.

Good question C-N. I hope not as I am sure many are going to go this route. If there is an issue I hope Oskar will sort it soon with a bios update. Haven't had one in a few months now, probably won't have anymore unless issues arise. I think we are seeing all we are going to see for options and performance from this board.

tks i likin the cpu so far i think a p45 mighta been more easy but no fun
load temps a bit high on air after 1.4v need to bump ac up
need 1.46v on nb to be stable @4.6 1.39v
i been away from p35 for a while what is safe max nb voltage i load @ 36c@1.46v
