I didn't go above 1.5V on nb both with 65nm C2D and C2Q since my nb is air cooled. But then again i didn't go much above 500fsb.
Your nb temps are rather ok considering voltage. What is your ambiental.

Forgot to post this result, so thought i'd do it now. First screenie is 5ghz stable with the E8600. Second screenie at 5.1ghz is where it is at the moment, i'm pretty shure it'll run the distance. As you can see, nice low Vcore so it should have a bit more headroom in it yet

    5ghz 8hrs Orthos blend stable:

    5.1ghz Orthos blend, still running:

Flashed my bios from 05/02/08 to 03/17/08 via usb today, and you guessed it, dead board. Had all defaults set with only a tad bit of cpu volts to make sure it flashed ok. Long story short, I got the 88 post code after the F1 reboot and that looped about 4 times, just an endless loop after popping the battery for about an hour and shorting the cmos jumper. No post code at all. Fun stuff

Anyone got a spare bios chip they could sell me? LMK

    i was on 512 bios n using special add % was booting @ 1.38v n after a few boots later was @ 1.47v
i upadated bios to 521 n it happened again
    i just rebooted n lowered volt by 1 % setting n i'm back to 1.38
i think we need a bios for the new stepping
is there a bios that i dont have to use special add for my e8600

VTT is at 1.17v, GTL's are 68-67-69. I have them set the same as my E8500 was, because as yet i hav'nt re-done my GTL voltages for this cpu. I have tried it up to VTT 3.3v but the values have definately changed from CO revision parts. So anyone that is using there old values is going to have a bit of a problem.

Having said all that, because i always run under phase, my settings are always going to be a bit different (the cpu GTL's specifically).

    Yes, that is quite good.
I think Sunon makes some good 60mm fans that could do the job.

Unless you are the sort of person (like me) that likes to tinker for the sake of tinkering you really don't need to manually set any of the secondary timings just leave them on auto.

I would just set Fast.Fast.Auto.Agressive.5.5.5.15.5.35 ~ whatever it needs & leave everything else on auto & see what happens. You can run something like Prime 95 on a custom 4096 stability test & tweak the primary timings up & down in BIOS or Memset till you get your desired performance. I would also use Everest bandwidth & latency test & Super PI 32m as a good gauge as to whether your tweaking is achieving anything or not.

You can also use Memset to discover what your board/BIOS has set for most of the secondary timings which will give you a start point to tweak/test from.

My 1GB sticks of Micron based RAM like the following for about DDR 1200 ~ 1250 @ 2.2 ~ 2.3v

    Code:
    Enhance Data Transmitting................. Fast
    Enhance Addressing........................ Fast
    T2 Dispatch............................... Auto
Clock Setting Fine Delay.................. All Auto * Aggressive

    CAS Latency Time (tCL).................... 5
    RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD)................. 5
    RAS# Precharge (tRP)...................... 5
    Precharge Delay (tRAS).................... 9
    All Precharge to Act...................... 4 ~ 5
REF to ACT Delay (tRFC)................... 24 ~ 35

Performance Level......................... Auto (depends on divider)
Read Delay Phase Adjust................... Leave on auto.
MCH ODT Latency........................... Auto ~ 2
Write to PRE Delay (tWR).................. 11
Rank Write to Read (tWTR)................. 10
ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)................... 3
Read to Write Delay (tRDWR)............... 8
Ranks Write to Write (tWRWR).............. 4
Ranks Read to Read (tRDRD)................ 5
Ranks Write to Read (tWRRD)............... 4
    Read CAS# Precharge (tRTP)................ 3
    ALL PRE to Refresh........................ 4
    Hope this helps

Some good advice by C-N. Other then tRd, which at times can be lowered by one, most of the secondaries are pretty close for a 24/7 setup.

    hi guys!
i tested my new e8600 on the lanparty p35 ut: i saw that lanparty+e8600 combo is much more faster than my previous combo (lanparty+e8400) in superpi 1M (-0,2sec.), but a lot slower on 32M. The 8600 needs 200mhz+ than e8400 to make the same time.
of course all the setting are the same (566x9.5 e8600, 566x9 e8400, ram 566 4.4.4.12, trd 7). I think that is a bios issue, in 1m maby the l2cache is faster in e8600 than e8400, but what about 32M?
    Thank you

Try setting the highest tref value in MemSet.
