i dont think its actually possible to be 24/7 stable above 500fsb, and i dont thnk its our CPUs or Mem.

benchmarks show some things get much slower @ 505fsb, and again @ 510, and again @ 515 !!!

i personally think 1:1 is getting messed up -OR- the PCI lock doesnt work.

Oh well. Takes only few minutes to flash and add settings again so maybe I flash anyways later today

ty for pointing that out.. So what does the boot block do??

Never mind I see so it is the part of the bios that detects an issue. After trying there last BIOS I am pretty damn scared to try this one considering it is the part of the BIOS that's saves everything when somthing goes wrong.

What is the Secret to get the board to reboot to a non-overclock so you can change things when you get a bit overzeolous with the speeds? I thought it was just shut it off/on but that is not working well for me. Last night it took over 30 restarts to get into the bios.

    Update boot block.
There's a 1003 bios for P5Q-E on the ASUS FTP site too. Is it a step down from the 1101 beta bios you posted earlier?

You can press the restart button when it comes on, fast twice in a row and it should reboot and clear itself.

I usually turn PSU switch off. When mobo has lost all power I can turn it on and it always boots fine

Flashed my board with 1103. Everest results looks same than with 1102. No problems booting with my usual settings. Will run some prime etc to make sure everything is still working properly. So far no problems with 1103.

You are aware of the fact that board overvolts a lot with auto settings, right?

SB volt been there. I think even 803 had it. At least 1102 had

I think I'll try to stabilize 500+ FSB this weekend with my E8400 too. Getting bored with 9x450 :P

I have stable OCCT tests on FSB Termination Voltage: 1.1. Do you think i'm still need to overvolt it to something 1.1.....?
Also i put CPU GTL Voltage Reference (1/3) on 0.67 . Is it normal for 45nm cpu?
I did some google search about GTL voltages, but not really understand what is the best for 45nm cpu.

1.1 in fact overvolts big time mate...it's 1.5 in reality, one of the reasons I want you to change it to 1.12 then it overvolts to about 1.13.... test stability then again...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    oops
    now it on 1.12

off-top: the temperatures Q9450 is 75C in OCCT monitoring and 65C in realtemp. Is it Tjunc issue and i should to believe that it around 65C?

I just flashed it about 2 mins ago. Didn't really look around for anything new but so far I can see no difference. Maybe 1103 is just the official version of 1102, who knows. I will do some more testing tonight, working on hitting PL8 still.

To everyone who commented: I will investigate the voltages tomorrow, thanks for the comments. This E8400 even on the 680i i had, needed 1,42v (real) to be stable at this speed. I know it's a bit too much and the problem might be something else, but if i lower the voltage any further, the system just crashes after a few minutes Prime95.

Anyway and even if i'm fully watercooled, i'll try to lower them tomorrow as i said, bit tired today.

NBF, I'm trying your settings with my Q6600 (G0) and P5Q-E (1101 beta bios). I found I couldn't boot into Vista 64 without keeping VCore and NBCore close to 1.50 V like you. However my system isn't Prime95 stable, keeps freezing after a couple minutes, so I'm progressively dialing down my FSB frequency. I'm down to 494x7 right now, but my temps are hovering around 71-72°C. I think that's the max recommended temp for my chip according to Intel. Should I be worried at all?

Leeghoofd I notice temp discrepancies between CoreTemp and RealTemp on my Q6600. CT reports 73-73-67-67°C vs. RealTemp's 68-68-62-62°C. Which program is giving me the correct temp and why?

This chips are pretty hard to clock fsb and they are not equal, some will do higher. I think you may be close to stable now.

Trust RealTemp, it's a very well made software, it's as close as a software can get from the real temperature. I personally don't worry with anything below 70°C Prime full load.

Thanks, RealTemp does seem like a great program so I'll make the switch over to that. I feel better seeing temps around 66-67°C, just makes me "feel" safer. I think my Q6600 can do 490x7 but I gave up on testing. Instead I wanted to try 444x8 so I could run my ram at its rated DDR2-1066 speeds (it was at DDR2-980 at 490x7). I changed all voltages to auto except VDimm=2.0V and NBCore=1.5V. So now my VCore is 1.44V on auto, makes me feel safer cause 1.50V for VCore was scaring me a little...

Leeghoofd, I couldn't get PL8 to pass. I got PL9 to pass but not on moderate, got it set to light now. Think I might bump up my voltage a bit more, is that safe? My sticks are rated at 1.8-1.9v and I am on 1.94(2.02v in reality) now. Would it be safe for my to bump it up 1.96-1.98? Thanks
