You did it twice, through horrible analogies.
Passing out a card with a photo of a dog to businesses throughout an entire community is not analogous to passing out upside-down crosses at a Christian church.
Passing out a card with a photo of a dog to businesses is not analogous to tubs full of crap or replacing Jesus with Satan or whatever you were getting at there.
Muslims don't keep dogs in their own homes due to a rule of their religion (NOT a belief that dogs are fundamentally evil!). Muslims do not give a crap if YOU have a dog or keep it in your own home. Muslims are not offended by pictures of dogs, nor by other people owning dogs. Just don't expect some of your Muslim friends to pet your dog
The point you are completely whiffing on is that nobody has a right to not be offended. Being offended by things you don't like is just a part of life. Especially when you choose to emigrate to a country full of things you don't like, which is already home to millions of people doing things that offend your religion/person/way of life. See...when you move to Britain and it's full of dogs, you don't get to complain and whine and piss and moan about the culture allowing dogs because you are offended by them. On the flipside, Britons have no obligation to accommodate or observe the religious beliefs or practices of any religious group, Muslims included. Which is why the British courts have forced Muslim women to uncover their faces in a case or two that involved workplace attire.
Having a religious belief or rule that pertains to yourself as a practitioner does not give a person or group license to foist those beliefs, limitations or rules on any other person or group. Especially not against those who do not hold your own belief system. i.e., I get to disregard the religious sensibilities of anyone from any religion. I do not care if something I do offends someone for religious reasons. Not my belief = not my problem. This is where the dog picture analogies you used went all wrong. Intentionally acting against people with the intention of offending them is wrong. Unintentionally offending them is not, and you can't expect an entire culture to modify its behavior to keep a small minority of citizens from being offended by something.
A lot of the friction and frustration stems from the fact that most Muslim immigrants are coming from nations whose laws are governed (at least to some degree) by Shari'ah. The Westerners want the Muslims to conform to the way of life of the culture they have adopted, while the Muslim communities are trying to find the happy medium between integration and observing their religion as they see fit.

Remember there was a show a while back on Pitbulls in the UK? There was some Irish mob that was breeding pitbulls & their main clientèle were based in Birmingham & you guessed it, they were muslims. :P I'm muslim, I've owned dogs myself, so have family members. This was one small case in Scotland where some muppet decides to kick up a stink & people on here start going on about dropping stuff on Iran? What's Iran got to do with a small group of Muslims in Scotland crying about a dog on a leaflet!?!?!
True on the publicity. On yes I overdid it with the analogies but with a reason.
The perception at that time, was that there might have been a case off intentionally offending them by neglect? In which case, the taken offense would in my opinion be justified. But since neither is the case, there was no offense taken and the was no intent to offend there actually is no subject.
I agree with the sentiment in your post. I think the UK's main problem has always been they do not enforce the spreading of immigrants throughout your population, they allow them to flock together which offcourse kind off kills the integration process. Atleast I always thought that be a main reason for integration to fail.
Marvin your from the netherlands, so you speak dutch right? (Dunno if you have like german speaking hollanders there like we do in belgium or french only bla bla bla)

Didn't I say I agreed with his sentiment
And yes, seeing I was born here almost 30 years ago I did manage to pick up the language :p
Three dumb broads - muslims - think they're in a Gotcha! situation when they ask Hans Teeuwen, a well known comedian around here, to come forward and explain why he offends them. Then he blows them away (with the addience applauding) with a few solid arguments, such as that we're living in a free society and you develop yourself to not be offended all the time. Kinda like: why do I offend you? You tell me!
The chicks don't understand anything of what he's saying and continue asking the same question. They just don't have a clue. Like most.
I can translate it if thy wishes to.

Sure laugh about it.. I'm hoping he has a laugh thinking about his moma and the rest of the town. You know I hear she doesn't wash herself after each one, so I think whoever is in the back of the line isn't going to enjoy himself. Though what I also heard, is that their not in it for the joy, how could they if she so ugly they have to put a bag over her head to not get to scared of getting desease through her.
So.. enough insults without foundation going around already you think?

Why not? Isn't the present judicial system not based on on the Christian religion, though offcourse it got changed because the percentage of people who actually practise the religion and therefore feel compelled to live by it's rules, deminished? Why is it the Christian values should be part of a judicial system but not any other religion, especially if you consider the number of practisioners of such a religion?
I don't want Islamic law to be put into our judicial system as is, but I'm convinced some off the spirit will be reflected in it and I can look at that fact and don't feel threatend by it. Why can't you?
It's not a dead horse, most off the legal systems around the world have their origins in a religious believe. The ten commandments anyone?
Talking about the current seperation between Church and State doesn't mean the origin has changed does it?
If you get a tremendous inflow off people from a diffrent religion, history will show you laws did change.
The thing is now, the religious values differ so much from eachother there is almost no way to get a middle ground. What that article described, islamic based mediation courts without real justicial power, is already in place and I think for a good reason. In their religion, thing which we accept as perfectly normal can be blasphemy.
This whole talk about, they came here, they have to adapt to us 100% and we don't have to change a bit saddens me because things don't work that way. You only create more fear and hate by not recognizing history and human nature.
