Bah backtracking is weaksauce. Meh, respecting a NDA that doesn't apply to you when advertising you were going to release benchmarks is also weaksauce. Soooo PM me the benchies?/jk
haha, like i said a few pages ago...someone threathen him in his mailbox and he chickened out...maybe its for the best in the end![]()

Since pics are freely available online, post a pic of 4850's in your PC? since TO MY KNOWLEDGE there isnt any pics on the net of motherboard mounted 4850's and that'll be enough to restore faith in you.
Come on guys how ungrateful and impatient can you be, he just said he got a card and plans on showing some numbers. Then everyone gets on the tip of their chairs, putting their patience to the test and getting grumpy after a while. That's all very understandable and all, but this is not a matter of life or death, it's just about some graphics card performance. There is no need to get angry at OBR for taking a while with his benches.
This is all until OBR posts that he can't post benches and then a lot of you guys start getting really mad at him, almost sending him a 'bullet letter' so to speak. He is probably trying to protect that person from whom he got his card as he probably is under NDA. Something he most likely didn't really take into consideration when he told us he was coming with some benches. I have no doubts about him having the cards and I also don't like the fact that he first said he'd come with benches only to fool us but this is no reason to start hating him. These kind of things are probably not completely his fault, I think he simply acted a little too hasty.
All I'm trying to say is that some peoples reactions are a little out of proportions so to speak, I won't be explicitly calling any names though. (It's mainly the most recent members, think November 2007 and up.)

@ OBR the news is that bad huh? But hey I respect your decision.
He did the wrong thing by teasing everybody, but his decision was right.
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T@3.5GHz@Scythe Mugen 2 <-> ASRock 970 Extreme4 <-> 8GB DDR3-1333 <-> Sapphire HD7870@1100/1300 <-> Samsung F3 <-> Win8.1 x64 <-> Acer Slim Line S243HL <-> BQT E9-CM 480W
I'm thinking... AMD this time had spread fogs over the chip. Maybe , for avoiding leaks, they haven't implement a good RV770 supports in pubblic drivers yet, and give good drivers only to few people and reviewers..
And maybe someone told him this, so he don't want to share benchmark that aren't representative of the real performance..
Gees guys, the level of conversation is lowering by the minute here, can we get it on-topic again....
I agree with you w0mbat.

But I want to see 4x 4850's on a quadfire AMD phenom 970FX board benchies. Sure its not intel but for raw vantage marks it'll win out over intel what with the CPU % lowered in vantage.
Nah teasing isnt against the rules. meh it was tbh the right decision, hope AMD give him some 4870's for itbut on the other hand part of me DESPERATELY wants them, really want two 4870's or even 4870X2's. *shivers with excitement*
Is it just me or is the mysteriousness of these new cards making them so attractive?
I don't think it is and Menhir has a higher chance of getting kicked that OBR at the moment, at least if I were an admin.
Can we get this thread on-topic again please?
Has anyone got any idea on the amount of TMUs? The way they are configured and stuff like that? The number of TFUs and whatnot....

Some of you guys need to learn the line between criticism and flaming...
I'm disappointed myself that a poster I viewed as respectable and reliable may not be. Can't pass any final judgement on that until we see how this plays out in the long run. Maybe OBR does have the cards and he honestly can't say anything now because the person he got the cards from called him and asked him not to at the last minute. Who knows.
Point is, throwing around insults and "ban hims! / burn him at the stakes!" never helps anything, and it certainly doesn't help get ones point across.
At this point, I'd like to apologize for the off topic posting. But in regards to the cards... If the 4870x2 shapes up the way I think it will... That may very well be the card to get...

He has the cards. He chose not to post benchmarks. It was his decision, and in my opinion it was the right one.
And yes. Maybe the person who gave him them told him not to post results.
maybe he just not some geeks and likes watching euro 2008??
so far the matches has been really good...
