I would have loved to. But the POS is currently gathering dust making way for the BlackOps to have some (non-corrupted) fun.

    Weird Issues

    Hello all

This is my first post here on XtremeSystems, although i've been reading things from here ages ago.

I've got an issue with my Striker 2 Extreme mobo, and i'm just wondering if anyone has/had it, and what is the solution to that problem, if any.

My system is a Striker II Extreme mobo with bios 0507, a QX9650, 2x EVGA 9800GX2, 4 Gigs (4X1 Gb) OCZ ReaperX DDR3 PC3-10666C6, SoundBlaster X-FI Fatality, 4 HDD (2 Raptors as boot up drives for XP and Vista and other 2) and a CoolerMaster 1000W, everything put together with watercooling inside a CoolerMaster Stacker 832, and everything is in stock and in auto.

My problem kicks in either on Vista or XP. Basically i boot into either OS with no problems whatsoever and can do a bit of work, but then the LCD Poster starts flashing weirdly and then everything freezes. Restart, and then it starts again...sometimes it takes 5 minutes, other times 15 or longer...

Again, i am sorry if i've posted on the wrong place, i just hope that somebody can help me.

    1. I would run Memtest and see if you have any memory errors.
    2. Try 2 sticks of memory on their own, in slots 1&3 (as opposed to 0&2)
    3. Check your memory voltage in the bios against the OCZ recommendation.
    4. Try without the soundcard
    5. Update the bios, 0703 apparently has a lot of CPU fixes.
    Regards

You need to flash to 0508 or 0512 and then try EZ-Flash to 0704.

You'll have to use AWDflash v1.33 to update your BIOS to 0704.
    It's pretty easy.
Just make a bootable Floppy/CD/DVD with it and the BIOS image and once you boot with it, type AWDFLASH BIOSNAME

    Thanks bro
Im just trying to get my pc ready for the next 3-4 years you know. Between 2006 and 2008 I spent too much money on this pcs (Striker+Striker 2=$800 ) so I really want to get this thing estable and since is the best motherboard out there (talking about specs) I want it to be estable and I finally did.

Ok, I didnt come here for 1 day and when I come I see 20 new answers and a new BIOS. It seems like you guys do your stuff when Slim is not here hmmm...

First, can somebody tell me what in the world does #4 mean?
    4. Add P790_War_Support. (NV-NEWS 052008)
What is this? War support, hahaha , seriously, what is this?

Another upgrade to the NVMM, nice

And just want to mention, have you guys noticed this BIOS was released on the 20th... so there might be another BIOS on the way probably really soon?

    Some testing with 0704

I have been running 0703 stable linked and synced at 1610mhz for the last little while. I have been trying to run 1770 linked and synced but Prime95 frezzes after test 4 or so.

Flashed to 0704 couple of hours ago 1610 is still good sfc ok prime ok no issues. Cranked it upto 1770 linked and synced..prime is failing. I loosened the ram timimgs to 8-9-9 28 and found prime was lasting longer but still failing.

Figuring this OCZ ram is probably the problem I just unlinked and set FSB to 1810 and put the ram back to 1610 which has been stable. Prime95 ran for 22 mins no freeze(not that this indicates 100% stable but it seems good so far) here are the settings, which I got mostly from reading Homer and BenchZowners threads..I will take no credit or responsibility

    Multi: 8
    FSB-MEM: Unlinked
    FSB: 1810
    MEM: 1810

    Memory timing:
    P1: Enabled
    P2: Enabled
    7-7-7-21 2T
    All subtimings Auto

    Overvoltage settings:
    CPU: 1.4
    Loadline Calibration: Enabled
    PLL: 1.5
    VTT: 1.30
    MEM: 1.92
    NB: 1.46
    SB: 1.55
    GTL_REF0: -29
    GTL_REF1: -32
    GTL_REF2: -32
    GTL_REF3: -29
    NB GTL_REF: +40
    DDR3 REF volts all Auto

    Screen shot.
