so andreas any idea why they went with 256 bit with the midrange last generation but are giving 256 to even the lower end this generation?

I don't think we will see 256-bit with lower-end cards. They don't need the bandwidth.

Economics and GDDR5.

GDDR5 is a bit extreme for low-end, don't you think ?
