Right now, no one offers contact/pressure testing. As SiG suggested, I would not offer it in the base price of your Paste, but as an option for those serious about doing it. The possible PITA comes, for you, in what to do with analyzing it. Would you offer to send it in for 3-d testing or perhaps acquire the capability at your company?

Perhaps this is a separate product, and service, Innovation wants to provide?

I found it very useful. (And yes, I owe you a lot of data, which will be posted here, as soon as the "alligators" get off my butt. Damn the day job...)

For a "onesy-twosy" type machine usage, I would pay for this. For a Farm, I'm not so sure I need to do all the machines in order to get a baseline to compare to.

The other factor to consider is the nature of the general populous that would use this service. Would they take your data as fact, or still carry a sense of "black magic" in their behavior? Are they even mechanially able to perform the test with anything that looks like valid results? The folks here are largely science based. When you put facts in front of them, they will go with it. (They will also call BS, when they see it. This is the reason you came to us.) The larger segment, as you know, still consider this a black magic affair....

I think you have a solid product. What you add to that is up to you. I do think the service of contact/pressure is valid and worth something, but you should not just "give it away" to anyone that says your paste is not good.....

    Regards,
    Bob

EDIT: BTW,Farm-07 is still cranking away at a 19% increase in the OC, after at least a week or two.... I believe....

I think the problem with this Idea is with the price point. If costs were lower I would just give away the film and charge a little more for the paste. I could probably neg. a lower price for volume but not enough to make make it worthwhile. The digital mapping for a single user costs more than what you guys pay for a single sink and only works for me on the volume test prices.

From a sales point it would not really be a factor for boosting sales. I think the contact part is nifty diagnostic tool and which is why I was playing around with carbon paper. Something like this would save me time on the troubleshooting front for some of those that do not see a result. Still looking for a DIY poor mans test.

I do agree if you offer the pressure testing I wouldn't do it with the past but on its own. Ok I will stop reading and get my testing done!

Ok let me get started here. sorry This one is going to be a bit of a book!

Here is where I started with my E6600. As you can see my temps were about 29c at a room temp of 22c.

Today before i started I checked room temp and it was 15c and I had AS5 on the chip. We are 1 day short of 2 weeks. The cores were
    core 0: 22
    Core 1: 21

now I am doing pressure film on this chip.
I will post the film scans here in a little bit but here are a couple things I have done.

List of 3 tests done on the E6600 chip.
    1st test
    Room temp: 16.7c
This test was done with 6002 on water loop with My hold down design

    2nd test
    Room temp: 17c
This test done with fuzion no water connected with My hold down design.

    3rd test
    Room temp: 18c
This test is being done after I did a slit lap of the cpu edges
fuzion no water connection with My hold down design.

now I also did 2 pressure tests on a friends lapped Q6600.
I will post them also but I have no temps. they were very interesting to me! See what you think of them? the first one of his was with my 6002 and the 2nd one is with the fuzion and my hold down.

yeah I had to come back in and get some long sleeves. that is what I like about the barn.

Ok so I didn't get the images posted so I will do it in another post.

    here we go
first off we have my E6600 with 6002 on water
second we have it with fuzion using my back plate from the 6002 and bolt down.
third we have the fuzion again but this time the cpu is lightly lapped. I am going to lap some more after this post.

    forth and fifth
now I also did 2 pressure tests on a friends lapped Q6600.
I will post them also but I have no temps. they were very interesting to me! See what you think of them? the first one of his was with my 6002 and the 2nd one is with the fuzion and my hold down.

Yeah I did some more work on it and will be upload the next pressure test here soon.

I have D7 on now so I figured here in a week or 2 I will check the temps and post them that should give some decent data of before and after.

my temps today before I started were 22 and 21c with room at 15c and AS5, but almost 2 weeks ago with D7 they were 29 and 29 with room temp at 22c

ok here is the pic but it is not coming on the scanner as well as it looks.
