The red ICs are of the older Micron chips family, the good ones were referred to as fatbodies, but those are now discontinued.
The black ICs are the chips that are not of special interest for us overclockers because they don't clock extraordinary.
Finally, the green ones are the chips you should look for, because these are very good for overclocking as they scale well with the applied voltage.

If you're looking for some 24/7 RAM, you should also take into consideration the 2x2GB kits using Powerchip that were announced lately. Just have a look in the RAM section!
I have nothing to add to the above. That is indeed what the colors mean.

About a year ago I changed the layout of my ramlists. The older version had a description at the bottom of the page explaining the colors, but I decided to remove it because it had already been there for such a long time I assumed it was clear to everyone.

I'm new-ish to the enthusiast side of things, and the first time I saw your RAM list page was probably 6 months ago. excellent page, and thank you for producing and updating it.

    Hey Ronald!

I just bought a kit of Supter Talent T1000UX2G5 as some reviews stated they use D9GKX. Can you confirm that?

In addition, I received the Micron value RAM about which I talked to you some time ago, I will post picture and some tests on the weekend.

    Regards,
    Dan

For some reason a genious over at DynDNS decided to delete my DNS-account.
Simply created a new one and the lists are back online now.

Have been away, so it took a while. My apologies for any inconvenience.

Sorry, but I can't. It's a fact that D9GKX was used on its T1000UX2G4 counterpart, but it's possible newer editions have different ICs, especially the ones rated at CAS5.
Then again, maybe you're lucky. Let me know if you find out anything about them.

    Looking forward to it.

    D9FTB outta production also?

I just picked up a 2x2 GB DDR2-667 kit of generic Crucials that are D9FTB.

They seem to crave voltage...won't get anywhere without it, which is basically opposite of the PSC i usually run.

D9FTB are fat bodies. They went out of production when the Rev D (D9GMH/D9GKX ect.) came out.

Yeah i noticed that, but if they're long outta production, it seems odd i found them on generic Crucial 2 GB dimms...

Unless they're trying to get rid of old stock?

D9FTB is the 1Gbit version of 'regular' Fatbody ICs like D9DQW or D9DQT.
It makes sense finding them on 2GB modules as this wouldn't be possible with 512MBit ICs.

Unless they're trying to get rid of old stock?
D9FTB has been out of production for a long time. Micron categorizes it as being Obsolete, so yes, it's old stock.

Since it's value memory they'll probably just throw any 1Gbit IC on it that is capable of running at the desired clockspeed, and if there's still some D9FTB lying around...

I have a question right away:
    PC2-8500 HyperX
    KHX8500D2K2/1G
    KHX8500D2K2/2G

    5.0-5-5-15 @ 2.2V

Micron D9GKX (B6-25E) (some) -> why 'some'? What chip is used on the others?

    What chips are used on Crucial Ballistix Tracers RED? It's a 2x2GB Kit, PC6400 CL4-4-4-12. Crucial's code is BL2KIT25664AR804. Specs @ http://www.crucial.com/eu/store/part...2KIT25664AR804

I suspect they have the same IC's as the recent single sided 1GB Ballistix Tracers, but I can't find which IC's those are either

What chips are being used in Crucial Ballistix single sided PC2 6400? They have the same part number as the double sided, not the same ram.
