Where can you find a power supply compatibility list for this board? The Power Supply being used at moment is a Corsair 620, I ran this board with no issues on my PC Power and Cooling 750 sold this board to my friend and when we power it up the power supply revs up and down

    Thanks in advance
If it's G0 stepping cpu then perhaps 1.35 or such is needed for 3.6GHz. Just try it, and since 400MHz is not that much for a fsb perhaps you won't even have to raise nb vcore.

    Volkswagen,

I have a Q6600 (batch L743A) with VID 1.300, and it takes 1.44v vcore (as measured by smart guardian at idle) to get a stable 3.6ghz (450x8).

    Diablos,

I know that the DK version of the board does not have this setting (as Praz mentioned). It has a special volts add setting that can be used to increase vcore from the default value.

ok guys i think i have a problem here. my system was running fine yesterday until i restart, it just wont post. c1 error. but then i test it using single module it turns out one of the ram cannot be used. then i did a cmos reset. unplug the battery for 12 hours then plug everything back. still no post with both rams installed.

then i press the reset button a few times and suddenly it post. but cannot oc the rams at all. only 1 module can undergo oc. then i did a memtest with both module installed, it was very very slow. 10 minutes running and test no1 still hadnt finished. is this memory related problem or the board?

i didnt oc the ram much. was running at 3.4ghz (425x8) 5-5-4-10 @ 1066 with 2.05v only. but it was quite hot during benching. im using team xtreem 2gb pc6400 cl4. and my ram settings are almost the same from the anandtech review.

owh yea one more thing. how do i get this board to 3.6ghz? have some difficulties wtih vtt and gtl

even at 2.0v? hmm should get ram cooler then. so its memory related right? nothing to do with the board?

That must be one crap memory, for some even 2.1v is default value...2.0v is really low voltage for a dead ram...

I mean if at 2.0v it was really hot, then yes, that could cause damage.
Damage from over-volting and from over-heating are 2 different things.

Usually one leads to the other, but not always.

Did you memtest the RAM in the first place. When I get new RAM the first thing I do is run memtest for at least a day with no OC, then I run short memtest at the OC'd level. My number one source of problems out of the box has always been bad RAM.

    No boot after change VID

    Hi everyone,

Just got the board yesterday, one more DFI.

I am getting a very strange behavior on the CPU VID CONTROL. Every time that I change the VID from auto and save to cmos, I get not BOOT! I Have to clear CCMOS after that.

The CPU VID Special Add works fine as long I have the CPU VID Control in AUTO.

    I am missing something here?

    Thanks

If you are using VID Control on manual did you set the vdroop control on disabled?
    What bios are you using?

yeah i did i said it in previous post. hmm n how do u get q6600 to 3.6ghz? i tried quite many ways but still prime will give me error. tried increasing vcore, vtt, gtl, nb, etc. do i need higher vtt if going to 450x8?? higher vcore doesnt give me stability no matter what. im lost here n im new to intel so not quite familiar with its oc terms.

Any Ideas, New LT P35 will not boot into Bios

    To Praz,

I just tried to boot up a new LT P35, the one in my signature works fine.

This new LT-P35 was going to replace a P965 Dark as my test machine.

Anyway I plug 2 X 1Gb sticks of Memory Corsair DDR 1066, 1 Video Card (7950 GT) the Q6600, a mouse and keyboard, switch on the Power and no Boot.

Normally you get that false start on my other DFI Boards but not this. The error code showed what looked like a '40' error for missing floppy, but the LED was not clear.

I cleared the CMOS and removed the batteries and put the Battery back, changed the pins back to the 1/2 position. The Clear was all of 30s.

Initially I thought dud Q6600, but I swapped out the MB and the P965 Dark boots with all the components listed.

Power Supply (P&C 750W) to the 24 pins + 8 pin and the 2 X 4pins slots near the PCIE.

OK this is what I noticed, with 1 stick of memory, the DRAM led light does not Light up, so in your opinion is this an RMA job. Incidently the DRAm led light is lit in my UT P35.

hey do u guys know y my q6600 is running hotter than usual? before i oc the temp was 32 on idle and 40++ on load with only tj07 side fans and no fans installed on the heatsink. then i oc'd but now im running at stock speed coz waiting for my rma ram. but its weird because now the temp is 40 on idle with fans on the heatsink..and the system is running slower. i remount the heatsink and change the thermal paste, and still the same. then tried using as5 (before this tuniq tx 2) and still in vain. could it be that this board is generating more heat than usual? or the cpu is just getting hotter? hope u guys can help. thanks in advance

    edit:oh btw im using TRUE.

Does anyone know what TRFC gets set at when the bios is loaded with optimized defaults? I am looking into building a new system for my dad and am looking into getting the 2 X 2GB G.Skill kit which I know works with much higher TRFC than my Crucial Ballistix. Am I going to have a problem posting with the G.Skill if no other ram is lying around to be used to help the system post to enter the bios? I want this system to be as pain free for my dad as possible.

I am actually wondering if I should stick with the DFI P35 for my dad or would going for the X38/X48 variant be a better choice now that they are all available.

The value for tRFC i read in MemSet after loading optimized defaults is 42. This goes for both Corsair Dominator and Team Xtreem modules.

thanks for the confirmation, I hope there won't be a problem booting the G.Skill 2 X 2GB kit (can't remember model off hand) as I know they like high TRFC to maintain stability. Like 52+. Can anyone who has and use these sticks chime in on their findings booting/posting from scratch with these sticks?
