Searching seek and buy... nothing more nothing less, unless you got a contact at Intel that cherry picks them for ya

we all write down batch nr's, etc... look on ebay , contact etailers etc... if they have one of the better batches go for it...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Was there a nice batch of those running around? I'm wondering what volts he's putting to it for that high of a clock.

I'm also curious as to how many of you are adjusting your GTLs?

Here is mine but i'll have to admit i haven't pushed it or tweaked it much.

Thanks guys This is a Q807A091 with a high wafer number of 91 from Tankguys. Although the chip has passed 1hr OCCT at 4.5GHz, small fft prime stability at my self-imposed max Vcore of 1.36v is much harder - so far 4.47GHz seems to be the limit.

So this is my E8400 (Q807А241) with screen @ Orthos. So i still have the problem with temp.. dunno what to do.. The voltage in Bios 1.2925, in Cpu-z 1.260, and 1.220-1.230 under load. (look screen)
but the temp under load is around 80.. (( system in signature.

Hello. Should I be worried if my E8400 uses 1.36V-1.368V on idle and around 1.33V load 24/7?

    My 8400 just plain sucks

Best OC without rising any voltages. It seems impossible to get it even 4GHz, I did try it with even 1.42* V from bios. No luck.

If I can run my computer with low multi (7) and 480 MHz bus, with 1:1 memory and all default voltages. If I rise multi, is it possible that I must rise nb/sb voltages?

What is this VID, core temp says 1.1125 V. I have it set from bios to 1.1 V, should I set it to 1.1125 V?

Could users with the new 45nm chips try using CPU-Z to report VID and compare that to what CoreTemp is saying?

If you go into the INI file for CPU-Z just set Sensor to OFF:

    Sensor=OFF

and instead of it reporting your actual voltage it will display the VID of your chip.

I'm a little biased here as well. I just released RealTemp 2.5 which also displays VID and I'm interested in finding out which program is right. I think Intel and CPU-Z have a pretty close relationship and I tend to trust CPU-Z. I think CoreTemp might be reporting VID too low on the new 45nm chips.

Hi guys. First-time poster. Just had my account activated. Switched from Q6600 (which was not too bad, but OC is a pain). I must say that E8400 didn't give me a hard time at all.

    System setup:
    Case: CM Cosmos S, 3x intake(1x 250mm, 2x 120mm), 4x exhaust (3x low CFM top fan, 1x high CFM rear fan)
    Cooling: Zalman CNPS 9700 LED w/ AS5
Mobo: ASUS Striker II Formula BIOS rev 1202, 1 Antec Spotcool fan sitting on top of the NB. NB/SB/NF200 sinks cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and AS5 applied.

Can't remember the processor lot/packdate out of my head but it's late March 2008. 1.1500 VID. I chuckled a bit when I saw "Max volt - 1.25v" on the box.

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=354966 - 1.38v
    Crashed after Prime95 errored out.

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=354968 - 1.41v
Stable, but too dangerous temp (70'C)

Right now I'm running at 475x9 @ 1.38v. Prime95 is stable, OCCT hasn't complained at all after 8 hours. What I really like about this is my 3Dmark06 score went up by 2500 points, and five seconds off on SuperPi 1m (16s to 11s)

Very nice, webwilli (but I already told you that )

    Here's a little update on my E8200.
Decided to push it a little more to see what this baby can do.
Ran Prime overnight (15 hours) at 4300Mhz, 1.344V. Not to shabby, IMO.
