I just upgraded to 1004, and now CMOS refuses to remember my frequency settings and my DRAM settings! Any idea WTF is going on? I've tried saving the profile and everything, but every time I reboot, it goes back to default and adjusts the RAM downwards...

It does remember my voltage settings though, so I have NO clue what's going on!

yah - I overwrote it, but it didn't like that. The Magic CMOS reset button took care of things

So I'm running 1004, but the behavior is the same, with 445 FSB 1.528v CPU, 1.7v PLL, 1.55v NB and SB on Auto, it still resets during boot into windows.

Anything else, like Loadline Calibration, or whatnot that I need to turn on/off?

If I could get the exact settings from Anuaja that'd rock.

I am right there with you MoogyMonster!

I used the advanced 'Clear CMOS' button too...

    Profiles are saving fine.

We need Anuaja to come back and share...

My GX2 is just waiting to talk to a 3.8 or 3.9 GHz processor!
Where did all the Q6600 boys go?

    Anuaja, come back!!

Is that actually stable for you? 9x445 @ 1.55v in the bios? I've got a 1.2375v VID chip too (earlier batch) and I need that 1.55v in the bios to get 9x425...

Anuaja, is that stable 24/7? What are your idle and load temps, and what sort of cooling are you using?

I want 4GHz, but I don't want to risk my system in the process...

BTW I tried all of your settings except for the RAM settings (I defaulted to 1186 with the 5-5-5-18 timings) and it booted into Windows, but froze upon playing the Sound Card Initialization sound.

Is this because I didn't adjust the RAM settings?

Note I have Crucial Ballistix (the stuff built for OCing) with a RAM Fan -- it says the settings are 5-5-5-15, but I wanted to check with somebody who knows about what frys ram before I did something that might do that.

    Any details would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have 4x1GB Sticks, so all slots are full.

I am just curious though, would the "hang" be related to DRAM settings, or is that still voltage? I'm beginning to wonder if I should just be happy with 3.6GHz and not try for 4GHz. I need a 100% stable system. I figured with 3x120 water cooling I could do the 4GHz, but I'm having so much instability when I try it out...

If you have not made the jump to bos 1004 do so. It allows for a higher trfc ( row refresh cycle time) setting wich 4GB users need for stability. Set it to 55-60
4x1GB will tax the North bridge harder so you need more NB volts than 2x1gb users. If your getting te det dram hang alot your not the only one alot of ppl get it, its all part of the Maximus Experience

I'm actually dealing with a bigger problem. I'm having massive "latency" with the operation of my system, and after spending hours of time on the phone with Asus and Crucial, I come to find out that the PC2-8500 Ballistix ram is NOT compatible with the Maximus Formula - as a matter of fact, it's "red flagged". I ran EVEREST and I have 65ms of latency on my RAM - this is unusually high, correct?

My issue now is finding compatible RAM, and of course none of the idiot RAM companies publish their motherboard compatibilities (recent) so I have to call each one of them up... This is driving me NUTS...

Try Mushkin Redline PC2-8000. They have no issues and I use them with great results.
