Thanks, that's promising. Might do that instead of getting the E8400, since the Q6600 is likely to beat it anyway despite a lower clock (in 3DMark06 at least). I'm using my computer mainly for high-end flight simming, and a quad seems to have a significant performance edge over duos in this situation.

Now that the new 45nm quads are out I guess that will be an alternative to the QX9650 for my Max_Ex, but probably I will hold off for a bit to see what sort of performance people are getting (just saw MadDog's post re: the Q9550).

What flight sim? Running at 3.6 here, on Falcon 4:Allied Force with everything maxed out (including in NVidia control panel, is not problem. Best visuals I have seen in Falcon since it came out.
