DFI will send me a new chip for $10.00 so I've ordered one. Regardless of whether this IS the issue or not it is not a bad idea to have a spare.

I'll be patient and try this when it comes to see if this is the solultion.

This process will take a few days longer... but if it works then I'll have saved a few weeks. If it doesn't work then I'll be prepared to RMA and I'll have only lost a few days.
