    You either got a magic boar + CPU, or magic fingers.. nice overclock for quad core.

    Q6600 1hr OCCT 425fsbx9 3.8G at 1.4V with 4G of ram.

    This is my low voltage silent settings with all fans on low. 4G needs the nb fan on high.

    I am guesing with an air cooled setup there is no room between the cpu cooler and the gfx card for a nb fan, and no small fans on the fet coolers? Is this why there are not many high clocking Strikers?

    Aight.. ford.. your settings/voltages don't look too far off mine, but the instant I go to 360fsb, it freaks out. Let's say I just wanted 400fsb even, I'm going to put out some 'guesses' as to what might work, then, if you're up for it, please tweak and re-post. And I'll give them a shot (I won't be an ass if something goes wrong).

    FSB = 1600 (400mhz)
    MEM = 800 (400mhz)
    @ 9 mult = 3,600mhz

    CPU PLL = 1.6
    CPU VTT = 1.5

    NB Core = 1.60
    SB Core = 1.60
    1.2v HT = 1.50

    NB GTL_REF Ratio = +30mV

    DDRII Chan. A Ref = DDR2_REF+30mV

    I'm on air and the temps are good, I've got extra fan blowing right on top of the NB, it shouldn't affect the OC, however I cant get stable anywhere above 3.0Ghz... bad board or CPU I guess

    Got an 80mm fan directly over the NB, sort of wedged b/w CPU heatsink and GFX. Still, NB temp is 75C idle lol Stock cooling solution IMO is appaling, especially with the known heat related issues of the 680i/780i chipsets. Why Asus didnt offer a fusion block on the striker ii like the maximus boards is beyond me...

    Currently waiting for MIPS blocks to replace the stock solution.

    Good job lizardking. But you don't really need LN2 to reach 4.5ghz...
    The proc has very high overclock potential. All it needs is a somewhat decent cooling... On air, it flies at 4.7ghz.
    on DICE/LN2 -> 5.3ghz.

    Hypothetical question:

    If you've got an E8400, a Striker II Formula, 2GB of the best DDR2 ram out there, and moderate water cooling for the CPU, without remounting the chipset cooling....

    can you achieve a 500x8 1:1 4-4-4-12 overclock ?

    oh yeah, is the 1101 BIOS any good?

    I dont know but I have ram that does 500 at 4-4-4-12 and a cpu that does 500fsbx8 on the x38 so I will try for you.

    Bios 1101 would not let me change the multi.

    Sorry, for me it would not even post with 5-5-5-18 at 500fsbx8. I have run this mb to 475x8 with a quad but never got to 500fsb.

    thanks.

    I am installing this crazy board today, will flash it to 1001 BIOS based on what you and others mentioned about the multi's. Since I'm using AS5, will have to keep it at stock for a WEEK

    Like What?

    I have a 120mm fan with one point on the gfx card, one point on the nb, one point near the cpufan plug and one point pointing to the dvd drive with the exhaust side of fan flat against the ram and nb.

    I am not getting the drop in bandwidth over 450fsb like some posted. Memtest shows it climbing from 450- 475 still.

    post screens? whats your everest latency?

    and are you raising via bios or clockgen? clockgen the drop doesnt occur, but gets very unstable.

    Bios overclock only. Have not use a clockgen since 865P and I have not used everest in years as I thought it was only a synthetic benchmark just calculating from ram setting values to give theoretical bandwidth.

    My post says I see an increase in memtest that is hard to show screens.

    I am working on some other tests to see if performace goes up.

    Some info on cpus at 4G same rig and ram settings.

    450fsbx9 for all, ram 1:1 at 4-4-4-12.

    Opening scene of 3dmark06, prxycon.

    E6600 110fps
    Q6600 115fps
    E6850 120fps
    E8400 130fps.

    The E8400 gives 2more fps in crysis benchmark than E6850, medium@1600x1200 giving 76.5fps AVRG.

    I dont know why there is a diff with the e6600 to e8650 both at the same settings, its a good e6600 needing only .5Vcore more to be stable at 4G than the E6850.

    The E8400 is also only 1000 points behind the Q6600 at 4G in 3Dmark06 overall.

    475fsbx9 almost 12000mb/s read and 44.4ns latency.

    Is this good or bad?

    At 475fsbx9 the e8400 is only 200 points lower overall in 3dmark06 than the Q6600 at 4G.

    Opening scene of proxycon 3dmark06 at 475fsb is 138fps .

    This is the best I got with my first striker II with trd=5.The second striker I have now,can't even reatch 10000MB/s in everest like it doesn't get the trd I am setting in bios.Please go in bios and try trd=5 and let me know what you got.
