I recorded a few videos in crysis @ 1680x1050 @ very High but I had to use Fraps !

with fraps image is bad , and fraps also cause a litle breaks while recording , but we can have an idea how the game run in very High

How is IQ bad with fraps? Did you make sure you record at full resolution and not half, although that is going to affect your game performance for sure. I've used fraps quite a lot and I haven't found a program that would record at a better quality. Gamecam for instance was pretty bad in comparison.

I think fraps splits the clips at 4GB by default other than that, I've never had skips or breaks while recording, maybe it's your HD. When I'm recording, I'm saving to 3xHDs in raid0. You need fast HDs for smooth recording.

Nice review but do you think it's worth 600 bones? I have 2 Palit 8800GT 1GB cards and get over 16k in 3dmark and we all know how cheap you can get GT's now.

Ok,but with 2 8800GTs you can do nothing without a SLI board. And that costs some bones more .

You forgot to mention the headache that is an Nvidia chipset (790i possibly excluded)

Hey guys... finally got my GX2 installed here.

Pulled 19k @ 4ghz on my CPU, GPU stock on 3dmark 06, which is really quite nice.

Crysis FPS wise runs ALOT faster than my single GTX, however it feels stuttery still, even though most of the time its at or around 30fps. This is both with the 174.53's and 174.60's

Has anyone tried the 174.70's on this card yet?

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=257054

Will give them a run later.

On vista x64. Running crysis 64bit, DX10 1920x1200 res. Been playing around with the settings from high to very high, and everything in between. Still seems to stutter, even with all on high, and FPS above 30.

I'll give the 174.70's a shot and see what they can do.

dude dont want to hijack ure thread or anything

but do u get this problem on multi gpu on

First i was playing dota on battlenet .. quit the program.. was on another forum
a forumer asked me to post that multi gpu /multi monitor thingy.
i was on multi gpu mode
and guess what u see in the pic below like almost after 5 minutes

full pic at this link.. to see clearer
    http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?ac...post&id=428791
can see the warcraft 3 dota map mixed with my desktop screenshot eventhough warcraft has been exited. the frames are still in the cards mem??

this is why i think the asus hd3870x2 TOP/ROG Dual Fan /4DVi rocks.. u can crossfire on 2 monitors, play dreamscene on both ( cant do that on this card), even game in windowed mode and watch a movie on the other monitor while msning away with dreamscene running..

this 9800gx2 is only good for ridiculous fps gains on games..
so a pure gamer this card is definitely for u..

    just my 2 cents..

Change to 174.60 or 174.70-74 drivers to fix that problem. It was an issue while running multi GPU mode on 174.53 drivers.

Thanks, odd how the minimum fps was higher in DX10 'High' as compared to DX9 'High'.

Are those overclocks the highest you can get stable and clean?

    Hi

nope , i just didnt try push harder yet !

but for what iv´seen in forum and others foruns , all 9800GX2 cards should do at least 730Mhz in core , 1850mhz shaders and 2200Mhz ram with no problems

holy c**p... became so enthousiast after reading this that i ordered one..... just 2 things that i forgot.

1 my psu doesnt have a 8 pin, will this be a problem or can it run on 2x 6 pin.

2 forgot that i already had problems instaling a 9600gt into my case, so i'm hoping this beast isn't to huge.

1 my psu doesnt have a 8 pin, will this be a problem or can it run on 2x 6 pin.

2 forgot that i already had problems instaling a 9600gt into my case, so i'm hoping this beast isn't to huge.

    Nice review mascaras
    Hi!

1- depend of manufacturer (XFX dont have 8 pin adapter) but i think BFG or ASUS have !

2 - its the same size as 8800 Ultra or HD3870X2

In your Frontlines test I noticed you have Foliage turned up. Are you experiencing major halting/stuttering with that turned up? I can play that game maxed out on my Ultra except for that setting. Just about anyone I talked to with any card (besides 9800GX2) has this problem unless Foliage is turned off. It plays great for a few seconds, halts for a few seconds, plays for a few seconds etc.
