I'd consider dropping 300 on 8 gigs of ddr2 800 ram (the new 2x2 crucial kits look nice) if the increase is really THAT much.
it helps if you're playing certain games or doing video editing and working with raw data which goes directly to RAM for faster access. I run, actually ran 4x2GB on my BADAXE2 with a QX6700 347x10 1.45v - RAM at 5-5-5-12 1.96v DDR867



Again if you're not doing alot of multi-tasking and or working with video/audio and similar applications that eat up RAM, then 4GB is plenty.
