oh yeah there is this 1 new gigabyte card with gddr3. Wonderful.
And now ?
it's not cheaper then gddr4 cards, it's not cooler, it's not faster.
Nobody would buy it, so why should i care ?

maybe it's just OCed 3850, who knows.
fact is : stock 3870 gpu clocks + lower vram clocks for more then stock 3870 price -> useless.

it truly is... making a 3870 with gddr3 in my opinion is false advertising, even if they take a gpu that was binned as a 3870.

I have actually ordered one of those and have sold my reference Sapphire 3870. In the UK it is pretty cheap in the 3870 grand scheme of things. Is this new Sapphire card based on the reference design or is it tweaked at all?
Part of the reason I have ordered the Gigabyte card is curiosity about the power circuitry work they have done. I'm hoping that with an Accelero S1 rev2 (when the become available) this will allow a much better overclock and cooler running. RAM speed doesn't seem to be an issue based on the review below, but people with the same RAM on the Gigabyte 8800GT cards seem to have encountered stability problems at its stock speeds (rated to 1000Mhz but with tighter timings than GDDR4)
