    I am not sure if I was the John mentioned in your post but I have relapped my HSF and still have similar results, I'm 99.9% certain it is nothing to do with the mounting or the cooling solution used (Stock Intel XE cooler) I have even set the Fan into performance mode (screaming loud 2800RPM!) and still no difference. Have experimented with disabling C1E, Speed Step and Thermal Monitor and also Auto or Manual Voltage

    Still no differences.

    I am sure that this is a BIOS issue or something along those lines, however I have sent an e-mail off to Intel asking what is going on.
