pretty sure he means if the unit was to fall on the GFX card or something. But since you are doing a horizon motherboard setup that shouldnt be a problem.

    w0000t!

Received my package from MM today.

Brand new sidepanel + toppanel WITHOUT scratches!
    And some goodies!

    THNX MM!!

    Everything is allright now!

Just build my PC and leak tested.
    Didn't run 24 hours, because I don't have the time :P

Installing Vista Ultimate 64bit right now.

    System Specs:
Asus Striker Extreme BIOS 1.00G 1301, pencil modded
    Q6600 G0 @ stock (right now), 21-25 celcius
    2x 2GB G.Skill DDR2 PC1000
2x XFX 8800 Ultra XT @ stock (right now)
    1x Creative X-Fi Gamer
    2x WD 74GB Raptor RAID 0
    2x 500GB
Mountain Mod Horizon Case with Duality Front

    Cooling:
    2x Thermochill PA120.3
    2x Laing DCC-1RT Plus 18W
    2x Swiftech MicroRes
    1x D-Tek Fuzion
    1x EK-Asus 1 Acryl Mobo Set
    2x EK-8800 Blocks
    4 meters Tygon 3603
    1x OCZ XTC Memory Cooler

BUT my Aerocool Powerwatch is broken WTF!??!?!
The Thermal Sensors of the CPU and Case are broken damnit!
Now it keeps beeping all the time and it can't read the temps.
    Really sucks.
The thing also doesn't control the fans right, it can't run the fans UNDER 1000RPM, that really sucks :S

So guess I have to find a new fan controller with Card Reader and USB front..
    Anybody got any tips??
    (have to fill 5.25 bays)

    Anyway, here some pics:

    Thnx

But Asus Probe, measured my Motherboard temperature 36 celcius and warned me it's high.

    Is 36 celcius normal?
    And it's even watercooled.

An awesome built man! Congratz. Aerocool Powerwatch is the most worthless POS ever. I'm glad you got rid of it. I had one before it miserably fails in about 4 months. Then I learned that these suckers aren't even properly grounded so It was a big electrical danger to your system. I also ran into the same motherboard tray height issue that you experienced. I was getting blue screens all over then I discovered my video cards weren't in place due to the same height problem. I solved this by getting longer mobo screws (hard to find!). Glad everything worked out fine for you.

    Thnx.

About the motherboard tray, my videocard fits now fine, with some "brute force".

But my Soundcard (creative X-Fi Gamer), doesn't fit at all!!!
I had to mod the bracket of the Soundcard.
I bent the top the other way around and screw it to the stray with some metal plate :P
You can see it in this picture:

Now tuck away those cables and you have one mean lean fragging machine !!

don't worry about Asus probe, my Striker too was always around 33-35°C mobo temp, disable the fan on the rams and it will go up as I though the sensor for mobo temp is near the first dimm slot...

    Good job mate !!

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Hey Leeghoofd, thnx a lot

I will tuck away the cables in January, now I have to work a lot and I have to move to a new apartment the 28th :S

    So very busy!

But what do you mean with "disable the ram on the fans"?

I had a few quality issues with my Custom MM case too, though nothing near as bad as what you've experienced. I got a few small scratches, and the plexi on the top window is cracked in the corner. I also waited close to 3 months for my case.

Anyways awesome build man, I love it!

Lol Typo mate, no just to see if the mobo temp rises then as the sensor is near the first dimm slot and not the NB like many peeps thought in the beginning...

If I put all the fans at top speed, my mobo temp will lower to 28-30 degrees

    But what a noise!!!!

My case is still producing a lot of noise.
Even if all the fans are set around 600RPM (lowest possible with the zalman fancontroller).

That's a real bummer, I thought water cooling will be less noisy, but it's about the same as before

Is this because I don't use "shrouds" for my rads?

And does Shrouds really reduce the noise remarkable??

I have never had good luck with LED fans being quiet. How loud is it really though? I'm using Panaflow L1A and (just order an L1BX since L1A's are discontinued) and at low RPM they are fairly silent. Everyone tells me yates are supposed to be quiter so I ordered a few of those as HD fan and exhaust fans. However using a fan controller the loudest part of my system becomes the D5 pump.

I don't think the thermochills really need shrouds, but that may be fan dependent as well.

The other problem is that all the fans are on the wall of the case so it's almsot as loud as having the cooling be external I suppose but not too much you can do there.

Your right it looks like a PITA to drain your loop, when yo do pickup a Y and add a drainport to the lowest part if possible.

You have 11 or so fans? The Yate Loons are pretty quiet, but with that many going you're going to have some noise.

How are your loops set up? Do you have a single loop or two? You might get better motherboard temps if the NB/SB/MOSFETS were on their own loop.

I really like your push fittings. I may go that route myself, but it is hard to justify scrapping my existing fittings and tubings which cost around $100.

    Nice build!

The noise is really coming from the front fans.
It's like the turbulence in the rad makes the noise.
The fans on top and back is very quit...

    I got 2 loops

    GPU1 GPU2 SB

    CPU NB MOSFET1 MOSFET2

If I let my fans run full speed, my mobo temp will decrease to 30 degrees.

    Thnx for the comments!

I've tuck away the cables by the way, will make picture soon

Hi akuma, Don't get me wrong I like your style very much, but can't you hide those green cables It's too messy in there. Because of the green cables.

Keep up the good work, and nice log btw.

You are much more patient with the case issues than I would've been. For what those cases cost, every single part should be flawless. It's not like those guys are new to the business.

    looks great

about it being loud, the dBA build up, like since their all the same dBA to start the first fan is about 28dBA adding a 2nd you hear 30dBA adding a 3rd makes it around 32dBA and so on so with the 6 fans up front you hear around 40dBA

Great build, watching with much interest.

Quick question, on the back panel under the motherboard you have two 120mm fans, does this have the spacing to mount a Thermochill 120.2? If so, three loops

    I totally forgot this topic.

@ Bollocks, yes, it got spacing for Thermochill 120.2
So maybe in future, I'll do three loops.

    Actually, I'm already planning it!

I think the tubes are too small, I don't like the small tubes, I like the 1/2 tubes

    So this is my plan:
    - buy another pump for third loop (NB-SB-Mosfets)
    - buy another 120.2 rad for third loop
    - buy OCLabs XPTops for the pumps
    - buy 1/2 tube (the NB-SB-Mosfets loop will keep the small tubes)
    - buy 1/2 fittings
    - Then change the CPU and GPU loop to 1/2 tube
    - Give NB-SB-Mosfet loop it's own loop

Guess it's a little overkill, but it's fun!
