[QUOTE=chuckbam;2595032]I had problems with the last two bios and slowly went back to #1219. It was very painful. I was getting random problem all due to that Dam ATK0110. I find that is the first thing that gives under any stress. I gave up trying to take it off my system a long time ago.

How do you go back to a previous bios version? That sounds problematic. I run bios '1216' and do not know what bios will
    be needed for 45nm.

You flash the bios, It clears the settings, I clear again, and re-set. You need and older AFUDOS than what is out now. Someone gave me the ver online. I have been rock stable ever since the flash back. Unless I get a new CPU, I am done changing bios with this board. The boot reports a wrong MHz, but utilities report the correct clock and I will live with it. Benchmarks are good, I am happy.

my 6 months old P5B Deluxe died again

Bought a Gigabyte 3D Mercury watercooling case from Newegg (cauz it was cheap after a huge MIR).

Yesterday finally got some time to move my system over from the old case. After 24 hours of leak testing, the system will not boot up (dual boot, no post screen).

When I power up, all fans are on, the LED on the board glows RED, but no POST screen, No Keyboard LED (cap lock/num lock). I cleared CMOS, removed battery, tried different ram with no luck, I seriously think the board is dead.

This is almost like my first P5B Deluxe, and after swapping out every part (video card, ram, cpu), I had to RMA it and this board came and worked like a charm until now .

    My system spec:
    P5B Deluxe
    E4300
    2x 1GB Crucial Ballistix PC8000
    EVGA 7900GS KO
    X-FI
    WD Raptor 160GB/150GB

My latest stable OC was 2.97 GHZ 330x9 @ 1.375 vcore.

Once I get a removable PC speaker, will check mobo beeps (stupid Mercury case didn't come with any speaker)

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to revive my system before ordering an ABIT IP-35 Pro from Newegg.

    Thanks in advance.

If everytime you remove your board it dies, you should really be more careful when touching electronic electrostatic sensitive material I don't see any other reason why it dies

    Fixed!

Found the cause of the problem a bad card reader plugged into one of the internal USB headers, removing it boots the system right up. I also electric taped everything on the back of the case.

With the new WC system, I pushed the OC a bit more, rig running at 3.2ghz now @ 1.45vcore 48C idle, 70C load/stress using TAT.

Some shots of the new case

Again, as I said, you need a Yorfield for that. Multiplier is a built in CPU function, nothing to do with motherboards, unless you have an old P4 CPU or still love AMD

I did not see that you said anything about Yorfield. I was just saying what I thought it was. I am not going to flash again unless I get a new CPU. And, I don't plan to do that till the new socket comes out.

I was thinking about flashing 1226 , mainly because of N/2 feature , as I am/was hoping for somewhat better OC options .
but after reading here , it seems its a too early version.

I don't have any plans on upgrading the CPU. I am certain I can push mine beyond 100% as it does 82% (485) at within spec voltage , as everything else .
Besides , CPU performance is more than enough for today games , which are the most demanding stuff I do. and windows experience at 5.7 is good enough I guess.
Not until applications will be able to actually USE 4 cores will there be a real need.

    PLEASE HELP!

I upgraded to 1226 bios with asus update and i am having problems mainly that my 9650se 3ware raid controller isn't working right. I want to flash back to a more stable bios but cannot figure out how. Can someone please link me to a utility that WILL work or explain how the heck to go backwards on a bios? Also what is the best more stable bios for Q6600?

I'm kinda amazed at this kind of problem , I always use the Bios builtin Flash utility. very easy. just extract the bios to any availabe storage and point the flash utility to it

A member of ABXZone gave me this link. It is an older AFUDOS. I was able to flash from #1233 to #1219. All bios problems have been fixed w/ #1219 . Use at you own risk.

Use ASUS Update and select "Options" on the "Select the Update Method".

You should see an option for "BIOS Downgrade" which worked for me.

@scottfern - I wouldn't flash to a beta BIOS unless I needed to do so... they can be buggy.

It doesn't, I flashed with 1226 and there was no change for multi options in bios.

I think that will only work for a future CPU that supports it.
