anyone got 500fsb on this board with quads?? like Q6600 or QX6850
"Thanks for the f-shack. Love, Dirty Mike & The Boys" - from Dirty Mike & The Boys
testing 485x8 atm 3 out of 4 cores are stable, core 2 keeps getting rounding errors in prime, have yet to try occt.
a few others have had success with 500
EDIT: just lock'd up and bsod
I just got some trouble here.
Was about to reboot and the computer rebooted, but then it said CPU INIT.
Tried to clear cmos, put battery out for 3hours
I took the motherboard out too and checked everything.
Will try with a different cpu tomorrow...

The Dominators should be able to handle that speed, I was however using my Team Xtreem DDR2 800 rated RAMs for that shot. They seem designed for more rough, aggressive speeds. Yes, they were in the white slots. Blue slots won't let you overclock too close to 1200mhz, let alone past it. I top out around 1170 + 5-10, and usually unstable.
The max I could get for a boot into windows was 495 on my quad.
CPU init seems to be a dreaded post message to encounter on this board. I would remove all power cables and let it sit for an hour and try again.

Anyone using that little fan from the kit?
I have mine installed and for the last 2 days its been craping out.
It's really getting LOUD and spinning very slow. Is it really required or can I toss it in the trash?
You would think that by now Asus could make a f___king fan.

question about load temps. im seeing about 10-12 degree difference between 1st and 3rd core under load. does that mean i didnt install the heatsink properly?
edit: btw, this is after i installed a thermalright 120. i had a tuniq tower installed before and the temp delta was not this much. i did noticed thw thermalright had a way more convex base than the tuniq.

i think 10*F is normal from core1&2 to core3&4. If you're OC (obsessive compulsive), you might try to lap your cpu and then try reseating, then try reseating 90deg... I dont think it will make a difference, someone tell me I'm wrong...

Reseating my TRUE 90deg different made a small difference, but the way the cooler then covered so much of the board made it difficult to work with so I turned it back to normal.
This is exceptable in the 1st week of TIM break in. It will or may decrease as the days go by. Lapping will even out the differences from core to core and overall CPU temp as well.
Mounting 90deg will do nothing fro core to core temp differences, only overall CPU temp providing PSU or exhalst fan is above it to pull air.
