\I must be a lucky bast, as my card clocks all the way to 780/1980/2000 (effective), without any BIOS tweaks. Just with a VF1000 fitted. Benches stable too. Im using a BFG 8800GT 512 OC.
Currently running an ES Black Ops with a Qx9650 under SS, and a variety of Crossfire combos, and a Biostar Tpower i45 with an E8500 (air) and a variety of Crossfire combos. Both with 2x1gb of Ballistix (DDR2/3 PC2/3 8500) FSP 350w/ Galaxy DXX 1000w PSU's.

I´ll think that BFG OC has higher Vgpu as stock.

It must do. Thing is, i had this card delivered to a mates house while i was working away, and he tested it and couldn't get it above 730 on the core. That was in an identical mobo (P5K-E WiFi AP) and with the stock cooler fitted.

*smug face!* well, my generous mate, who babysat my card, also bought a BFG 8800 GT 512OC, and his clocks aren't as good as mine, so im wondering if it may be the improved cooling. I rarely see over 50c under load.

Does anyone know for sure the 2000MHz rumor about the RAM is confirmed? Is it really bad to run it over 2k? Because with the BIOS from the first post, I can get to 2150 no issue (due to the slack timings apparently).

I also had nothing under the exact volts, but I made it 1.1v and it worked. Max OC increased as expected. I have the eVGA vanilla 8800GT, and it came w/ 600/1500/900 clocks stock.

i used the zotac 8800GT bios, works good, i would suggest that bios, its straight from nvidia, not altered by manufacturer.

me the RAM gets crazy hot

i put one of my cards on watercoolin for 24/7 rig and damn the sinks on the ram chips are really hot lol

    i have a low OCer
tops out at 729/999 on water and it did that on air for benching too

    but still it's nice
Crysis even with AA enabled and high details is completely playable ,.,,... love it

grab a dmm and measure vgpu, if it´s above 1.12v on load then the bios is already modified

What advantage does the Zotec BIOS have? I tried the BIOS in the 1st post w/ negligible results. Previously, I couldn't get over 951 on the RAM w/o getting artifacts, and even 951 was giving me problems after some time. I'm at 945 now.

After the BIOS from the 1st post I was testing at 956, but getting artifacts. I might be alright at 954, but it was getting too late last night for me to continue.

Honestly, I think I've got some pretty poor vRAM w/ others getting over 1000 easily.

But I did notice that position 0xBFD1 changes by 5 with each increase in vid. For instance, vid0 is 5f, 1 is 64, 2 is 69, 3 is 6e. Unknown of the hardware aspect, but just looking at this, if anyone wanted to try, the next value up would be 73.

And if you look in the voltage table editor, although you only have the option to go up to 4, you see in the hex that there's blank space for more to fit in. if you change this in the hex editor to also add in another vid (looks like after the 03, it'd go 00 00 73 04. Also the 04 in red at the beginning would change to a 05.

completely at your own risk of course :p if it does, you'd be at 1.15v
    Anybody tried this yet?

Same boat here Jason. Mine weren't stable at 959. Clocked back to stock for now. I'm just gonna test my current 740core/1782 shader which seems very stable. Two hours of ati tool without any trail of artifacts and at least 8 hours of crysis without any issues.
