Well i don't have much time tonight to run tests but i thought i'd throw on some pics here for you guys to see. I'll probably try to run some benches later this week.

I gotta say that these cards at stock with my setup got me 19500 in 3Dmark06 in Vista64. Not too shabby. Definitely faster than my 2900XT's at stock.

^^ hmm the 3d06 score is gone
    Does a P5E3 (using DDR3 ram)make that much of a difference using Vista 64?

Hmm, 33C load temp decrease by TT DuOrb, interesting to see how this cooler jumps between "outstanding" to a POS. Heh I wonder why bother testing Prey for CF performance?

First of all my mobo is DDR3 as you can see from my review on Hardware Canucks.

There are a number of differences from the 19500 score and mine:

    - I think my Blitz is having a few issues with the 8x/8x hybrid setup
    - The Blitz is a "hybrid" 8x/8x mobo versus the 16x/16x P5E3
    - My processor is "only" at 3.5Ghz
    - I had some SERIOUS issues with the 3.44 RC2 drivers and Crossifre

I think this cooler is anything but a POS....especially for the HD3870. That being said, you won't get a Mhz more overclocking headroom with it due to the bug that seems to limit the card to an 860-864Mhz core speed.

Anybody care to guess why the overclocks can't pass 860-865? Do you all think it is a driver/software thing or hardware related?

IMO either voltage or BIOS or a combination of both.

i havnt had any of the crossfire issues with the drivers that came with the card (8.43).
i have to say the performance so far has been anything but shabby. these cards actually run crysis V.well in crossfire @1680x1050 with V.high settings and no AA. same for world in conflict @1680x1050 with all settings maxed except AA. i just couldnt do that with the 2900's...

Looks to me like you are using XP......venture into Vista x64 territory for a second and you may have a different experience.

lol i am using vista 64bit ultimate..... thats why i thought i'd have problems but apart from the screen going black after my first attempt to install the driver its been fine.. very stable. could be a complete differant story though with a differant chipset or drivers from other peripherals...

Funny, HD3870 is just as impossible to buy in Euroland as 8800GT.
Stocking dates go as far as Jan-08.

250 000 cards for launch. My ass...
You were not supposed to see this.

ATi is letting the board partners decide if they want HDMI outputs, but the DVI to HDMI converter that is included works well I hear.

The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given.
