I have those PC6400 Ballistix's and they are D9's. I can run mine at 1100ish 5-5-5-12 and 980ish 4-4-4-10 and that is using 2.12 volts and not the 2.2 max volts. They are great cheap memory. Although I paid almost $300 for them when I got mine.

if 4-4-4-12 doesn't post, try 5-5-5-15 and then Memtest, if that post's ok try 5-5-5-12.

You might be better off enabling Transaction Booster and setting it to 0, also set Ai ClockTwister to Strong.
If you find that this works, try putting Transaction Booster on 1 afterwards.
Some people say that Transaction Booster doesn't work properly, but it works fine for me and increased my mem read speeds a little.

If increasing the latency helps you to post, you can probably try to drop the North Bridge volts a little, but that's only worth doing if you are worried about temps! if your NB is staying below 58-60c then you should be fine.

Refer to my post earlier regarding my listed BIOS settings if you are puzzled with setting up voltages.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Ok so I went to inch up my fsb from 450 x 8 to 452 x 8 and booted into windoze. CPUZ shows a fsb of 448...? wtf? My memory speed went from 1128 to 1133 but the cpu speed went down? I don't get it. Anyways, so I set it back to 450 x 8 and rebooted. I did not change any of my 18 hr prime stable settings (as detailed below) and I can't run for more than an hour or 2 now. Ideas?

I have tested the memory with GoldMemory and Memtest for 8hrs each @ 1128mhz and it passed just fine. Here's my once stable settings that have now become unstable for some reason.

    CPU Ratio Control Manual
    Ratio CMOS setting 8
    FSB Frequency 450
    FSB Strap to NB Auto

    DRAM Timing Control Manual

    ras active time 15

    Everything else AUTO

DRAM Voltage 1.98 (overvolting to 2.1)
FSB Term Volt 1.4 (overvolting to 1.472)

Even though I kept saying I'm done I kept tweaking to try to get rock solid. I'm not running the Crucial memory as it is fast but was giving me the same issues as my G.Skills and I would rather just use 2 slots instead of 4. I haven't tried the PC8500 Ballistix's yet but I might go ahead and see how they run for me. I'll post my new BIOS settings soon. I've recently been playing with the CPU PLL and it has helped some but I'm really having to give it juice like 1.76 atm I think.

Guys we don't need nearly as much NBV as everyone seems to be saying...I'm running 1.50V according to PC Probe and I'm stable in Prime95 blended so far. I tightened my subtimings and the fourth main timing to 12...can't remember which one that is.

i agree... i don't think any of the voltages need to be as high as some are stating. i'm theorizing that the higher voltages with some are what is making the overall overclock unstable. i've yet to completely dial in my 3.9, but i'm thinking i might just try and start 4 GHz again. haven't decided...

Yea I use a USB stick to store BIOSes (must be formatted FAT32) and save my CMOS using the same stick.
I found yet ANOTHER BUG with the BIOS using this method though....
If you reset the CMOS and try the enter the BIOS with your flash drive attached (containing only a BIOS and .CMO CMOS file) it will hang on detecting the drive....you must remove it, hard boot, then boot into your OS, insert the drive, reboot, and it will work.
    Meh
You can also store to the profiles on the OC backup program . There are two.

Man I really want to go higher on my board! I'm only loading at 50-57C at 3.6! I don't know why I can't post higher than 400 MHz....this is seriously killing me....
