    G92 new 8800GTS approching , time set to Dec.3

There are already some talks about the incoming 8800GTS now. Lets make it clear: the G92-based 8800GTS will out at Dec 3.

Currenty some website mislead the public with EVGA's 8800GTS SSC edition and BFG's GeForce 8800 GTS EE (Extreme Edition) OC by talking they are G92-based. It is wrong. They are only a SP unlock version of G80. the most obervious evidence is that G80 is using 320bit memory interface and G92 is using 256bit memory interface.

Thanks for update but then is a way to unlock our 8800 GTS SP from 96 to 112 or higher? I bet EVGA and BFG know a way!

Makes you wonder if using the BIOS from the 8800GTS SSC would unlock one of the regular 8800GTS 640MB cards, doesn't it?

I also am raising my hand as another confused consumer as to what in the world is going on with the new Nvidia cards. There are just so many variations and new cards released.

I fathom G92GTS should be quite similar to current 8800GT. They'll likely add the missing 3rd phase on the card, other than that I don't see a reason for nVIDIA to go make a new design, for example, 1GB frame buffer can be done with present layout.

You can thank nVidia for letting suppliers to let them sell OC'ed versions of the cards.

It's 112, their web designer updated the site when they didn't have the final specs ready

    Hmmm

If they have 112 Shaders then:
    $300 for the 512MegModel
    $350 for the 1Gig Model

If they have 128 Shaders then:
    $350 for the 512MegModel

    112 SP is for the G80 @ 90nm 8800GTS 640mb / 320bit

    128SP is for the NEW G92@ 65nm 8800GTS 512mb / 256bit

I see the term "laser cut" everywhere when crippled ICs are discussed.
What does it mean for bridgeless chips like G80?

I'd imagine it would make more sense for GPU builders to place a small on-die registry on the chip that controls the amounts of enabled/disabled ROPs, SPs and whatnot.
