IIRC, the ram issue's settled. I won't be going for crazy high FSB, only GPU/CPU performance for Crysis/media transcoding. Mainly Crysis...that game just...wow.

That leaves 2 questions that go OT, but what board and will the RAID fux0r my 2 250GB's in a mirror like 2 years ago? I had to go through 200+ folders and "see" whether or not the pics corrupt or not. (family stuff guys, get out the gutter) That was NOT good times.

    1. Will my Raptors in 0 suck? Will my Hitachis corrupt?
    2. Striker Extreme, EVGA A1, or DFI LP?

    Thanks!!

EDIT: maybe by some struck of stupid ATI will hook it up

RAM issue is settled on reff boards, your own your own with DFI/ASUS/ABIT et all.

RAID issue is also mostly fixed. However it's still no match for intels. Save yourself the headache and get a PCI sata RAID card, it's worth the cost just to forget about it.

    1. No, probabl not.

So basically there is a better chance of Big Foot getting struck by lightning 5 times in a row while driving drunk through a car wash than x38 sli support?

Thanks Crash. A friend of mine's been using the EVGA board for some time now and although he's not on a quad or using RAID, he's had no issues. Actually his X-Fi doesn't even crackle.

I've looked @ the Arecas, but $300 seems a little steep. Then again, no drivers and I can take it w/ me, right?

EVGA has a quad OC version out. The xfi issue has been worked out on all the boards.

Last time I touched a DFI it was great for duals, not so much for quads.

I've been through 3 strikers. The problems with the striker are not 680i related, it's striker related.

If you can find a seller that will make sure you get the latest rev with the 1303 bios the feature set makes it worth the cash if you don't want a huge OC. However the striker has massive ram issues that are it's own monster. I've stuck with it out of stubborness.

Hacked driver will be released for sure. But the downside is that Nvidia constantly updates it's drivers. By the time it's relesed legit drivers will be 10-20 releases up. Now i dobt that who ever hacks SLI can keep up. You realy dont want to play with 6 month old driver even in SLI.

Please let SLI exist on X38. I can't stand those crap chipsets that NVIDIA makes
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

With Beta driver releases every week or so and full releases monthly if not more, a hacked driver becomes useless very quickly.

While I pray to the gods that be that this happens, I really dont think it will be more than a novelty if it is a cracked driver.

    Still, fingers crossed...

Yes this thread needs to be perkaminated

Ever since that news item about foxconn "multi gpu" capable boards, rumours have run rampant about sli on intel chipsets.

I wonder WHY INTEL don't pay NVIDIA to get the licence and work X38s with SLI?.....They have PLENTY of money right now.....and IF they want to "neel" AMD/ATI, they should do it.... BUT who knows what's happening "behind the scenes"?...

With "certain team" doing a job I expect a better result
And those guys.. who think they are just spreading the news dat SLI is not supported.. well we all know about it... fun starts when we go beyond that fact, ain't it??
I know legally one cant have SLI on X38... but wats wrong wid few of us sharing that amazing driver :P

nvidia would sell a LOT more cards too.

I build a few computers here and there for people and they always want some sort of multi-gpu configuration, or atleast the capability to.

I end up telling them to wait for the hd 3800 + X38. I'd rather say get x38 + 8800GT right now, but too bad for NVIDIA.

Intel would sell more boards... Nvidia would sell more cards...

But then why would anyone buy Nvidia boards? They wouldn't. That's dumb. Nvidia is here to make money, not make people happy, they want their own board market.
