well before trying anything you might want to compare bioses of cards that come with different default clocks. if the super overclocked 700mhz version have higher default voltages, it might be safe to assume that you can take a normal card and bump it up some, assuming cooling isn't a problem.. but who knows?

Got an e-mail from Fry's saying the 8800GT was never in stock and will "hopefully become available within 30 days." Think I'll cancel and wait for availability of the palit one with the decent cooler.

its not going to be a G92 based

reason .. nvidia said the new card can be slied with the older card.
    the 8800GTS 640mb G80 dont have 128SP but 112SP

well 8800GT BIos have a lot of features LOKED so that means maybe new G92 models with that features Unloked can be released

    maybe a new 8800GTS G92 winth crysis on 16th??

Crysis Is Officially Gold; Coming to PCs on November 16th

It's hard to find a computer game with more hype than Crysis. And so, it should come as no surprise that Electronic Arts' Crysis recently went gold. "We are extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish with Crysis," said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli. "We wanted to push the boundaries both visually and with open-ended, non-linear gameplay and we believe the end result delivers that vision." At this point, Crytek and EA are planning to release their masterpiece on November 16th.

Where do you order directly from eVGA? I don't see it on their site anywhere.
    I'm back....

A lot of people got theirs shipped yesterday on other forums... don't take the bait, it's just a generic email likely. The next shipment is supposed to be this weekend, so if you have your order there still it's better to hold out. I switched before it looked like they were getting any to a pair of eVGA KO's from newegg, but it cost a lot more. If I had known, I might not have switched.

I almost canceled my order from NCIX since I thought I was too late to get in on the first batch but I'm glad I didn't, EVGA 8800gt SC arrived this morning. Even with the $22 freight it was still cheaper than most other places are charging, cost me like $26x delivered.

    GRATS!

Now, find your max overclock with an add-on cooler that won't temperature-limit you, mod the VID in the BIOS for us, and see if you can get a higher clock then... if so, we know it worked :p! You can be our pro guinea pig ! .

or you can share your KO bios with us SC guys, so we can compare the differences and possibly turn ours into KO's too

    Cheapest 8800GT in germany is a Gigabyte @ 218€ (= $315 / £152).
I think I'll wait a couple days until prices calm down before ordering.

    Hmmm...
Zotac AMP! Ed. (700/1000) is 238€...
You were not supposed to see this.

Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

I read that it's the same length as the 8800GTS, but I don't remember where I read that, perhaps the Anandtech article, which is the only one I bothered to read through.
