I am having an issue with getting CAS 4 with my OCZ RAM. Jimmyz told me that he is using Crucial without an issue at CAS4. So if you are looking fro tight timings maybe Crucial?

Would these work well? If not, what 1GB modules do you recommend to run 4 of?

    This will be with a Q6600 G0
    Heres my vote

I hear these things are using a new low voltage power chip & can hold 1100mhz + with 2.1v

All the results I've seen puts 2.1V max to be about right. Although speed wise 1040MHz is considered having a really good set.

How much benefit is there really in oc the pcie bus? I suppose a quick 3dmark would show the difference, but if someone know off the top of there head, I'd appreciate the time saved.

I am using 8GB and a Quad. Granted, my overclock at this moment is very small, it's at 333x9 (Q6600). But still, it's technically overclocked and it's a Quad.

Oh, btw, no issues with it, either. This board is an absolute dream to work with. Goodbye Abit, hello DFI.

Actually, not a first DFI owner. I was a DFI guy back when I used to run with AMD. The NF4 Lan Party SLI-DR was one of my favorite boards back then, it ran SLI very well and overclocked great! But, I then got the Expert when it came out and it all went downhill. I could not get it to not BSOD on me when running any 3d apps, it was very frustrating! Hence, the switch to Abit (AN8 32X Max). After a good run with them, I'm back to DFI and probably will be for a spell, as I am waiting for the DFI X38 board to come out.

just to add to those that have had POST issues... all I did last night was bump my FSB from 490 to 514, then down to 500 and each time the board would turn on and not POST. I had to keep clearing CMOS. Now I'm back at 490fsb x7. This sucks b/c I'm just looking for a 24/7 setting so that I can do some tests during work to ensure it's stable for daily use. Who knows what's gonna happen when I start benching!! I sure as hell hope this thing can boot up with high FSB b/c my e6400 has some potential left in it.

I'm concerned, but not too concerned as my last DFI, the s939 NF4, was a cold-boot hater, and I got used to it... I just hate the wasted time from it, though.

You might need to bump the ClockGen voltage and tweak up the GTL. NB volts are critical of course.

I also found that adding to the percent of the VID helps at the edge.

i bumped up the NB voltage, but what the heck is clockgen voltage? as for clockgen (the actual program), how do i go about getting it to detect and alter clocks... on my dfi nf4 i just ran the program and it worked. it seems that with this dfi p35 i gotta set something in clockgen settings. sorry for the 2 concerns in one, lol.

Ahhh shoot there's a link a page or two above from eva2000 that explains how to enable ClockGen.

I do not use ClockGen...but for some reason increasing the voltage for it seems to add stability at the upper extremes.

Looks like we'll have to use setFSB... never heard of or seen that program, but I'm sure I'll find it.

    *edit* Found it here:

I'm assuming this works with our DFI T2R... I was skimming through pages and didn't see much reference, so I'm sorry if I'm doing something repetitive.

Well hopefully (maybe) the OP will put it in the 1st post.

My favorite overclocking tool is the Abit uGuru... you can adjust voltage, clocks, and whatnot all from the damn desktop...

Shhh, but at my old job I spent some days overclocking like half the day, remotely... yes, it's risky, but I live the fast lane!!! lol
