not a long time in computer world, well its just my opinion,i'll rest my case here
Because almost everyone here posting in this thread are Nvidia fanboi that will never trust ATI products whatsoever.

    ??

Does that mean EVGA's overclocked 8800gt is a ripped off ?

Is better to pay the extra to buy a cooler and overclock it yourself ?

    Thanks for the reply.
Anyone care to answer my question?

Usually it is not worth it to buy an overclocked version ,, better use the money for after market cooling but if the difference is like 10$ better go with the overclocked ,, it might help you later when selling it

judging from the pics of the xfx on newegg. the 4x4 hole pattern looks the same as the gtx/gts cards. thats good. wont need a new water block and the HR-03 Plus looks like it will fit too.

    this is F----cking hilarious!

i would by the XFX card just for this sign to put on the door for my girlfriend to see!! hahaha

I meant the current 8800 series coolers "G80" should work.

Why does the gts beat the gt in bioshock and lost planet?

Also, why when overclocked to 650/2000, unreal 3 framerates actually go down in performance.

    hmm.. seems odd

could be a bad reviewer. also cpu is bottlenecked at low res. look at the 1920 x 1200 results in the graphs.

Perhaps because of the lesser memory bus width?

I think the reviewer is bad, well either expreview or this pconline reviewer is since the results are so different for those games in these 2 reviews. 8800GT did amazingly well in BioShock in expreview's review which I had personally expected (in shader heavy games, 8800GT should do great) and I'd lean more towards this one would be a bit biased.

so is the review from the beginning of this thread (http://topic.expreview.com/2007-10-2...539d6255.html)... i guess nvidia is cracking down on people.. hence why the newegg links are gone, the review is gone, other sites product links are gone, and some peoples orders have en been canceled.

EDIT: Like 10 minutes ago I got a call from the place I ordered one from, to confirm all my info... they said it was all good and would ship out soon (LOL). and now my order status has been changed to discontinued as well

I just hope the reason isn't: the card is simply too great and needs to be slowed down!!!

My compulsive decision to buy one has been taken away... which might cost nvidia a sale from me.. cause i been waiting for ATI to get it together... and was gonna wait for reviews of the upcoming card.. but when i saw the 8800GT, and how cheap, soon to be available, and how it performed.. i wanted one... now i might just wait to see which is better

    Ah, this is truely,
Do you want a new boat, or whats in the box. Omg the box could be anything, it could even be a boat!
    I'll take the box!

We all can wait until mid november to make decisions.
