So this fit with the stock heatpipe still in place without issue? Very interesting. I wonder if the same could be done with a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme installed.

at 350 fsb x 9 (ya it low im just getting started) i needed to lower my gtl settings to 100 100 90 from 110 110 110 to get it stable. now my 680i board from dfi had stock gtl timmings that looked alot different than the p35 i assume thats just because its a different chipset, but the stock values not being stable has me wondering, where is that 110 110 110 derived from? just calculated stock values or random numbers?

The values of 110, 110 ,110 do not represent the current default setting. The actual values depend on the voltage settings. Also a user set GTL value represents a different voltage (percentage) as the corresponding VTT or NB voltage is changed.

The heatsink in the picture is actually sitting on the inductor arrays. The inductors do get quite hot and spread their heat both to the CPU and PWM area, so adding a good heatsink may well help in overall temps a little, if you use some crossflow air to carry the heat away..

Nothing new, didn't add anything... This are new Swiftech Ramsinks product, they glue very well and it's not easy to them to fall off. It's not a problem at all.

I think when you have a cooler (water/air) with a good cooper base, or other stuf like thermaright, its a waste puting the tranpiper cooper base, i have a shiny D-Tek water block its a wast to put transpiper cooper on that.

What kind of quad performance can be typically expected with this board and QX6700 on phase? Pretty solid or do better P35 quad boards exist? I really like the open space around the CPU socket.

Also, has anyone removed the NB on this board and replaced it with a waterblock? If so, how did you handle the other areas of the board covered by the heatsink assembly? Also, what NB waterblock did you use?

    Thanks.
