Another point would be that overclocking generally works better when PCI-E Freq is also overclocked above it's 100MHz default ---> and not a problem for you since your setup is using a AGP vga card ?
For example, overclocking my E4400/4coredual setup anywhere around 315-320 range is more stable when PCI-E Freq is at 119MHz !
Your 300-310 o/c would however require a different PCIE value. And simplest way to test for effect would be by using "Overclock Mode" at 'CPU, PCIE Sync' ?
