Seems there's an even better way to vmod the STL6714 controller - I recommend that this method be used over my own as you'll inject less noise into the circuit.
My 8800GT now works with my 775Dual VSTA

Find the BIOS file and flash utility here:
http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.ph...ASUS8800GT.zip
I put the card in another motherboard, booted from my USB boot drive created using:
http://www.student.livjm.ac.uk/cmpsg...rive_guide.htm
Put the BIOS file and flash utility on the USB root drive and run:
nvflash as01gen1.rom -4 -5 -6
And now I'm hitting 8500 on 3dMark06 and running Bioshock at 1680x1050 with ease (and saved the £50 that would have gone a new mobo).
I think this is definately the best option for the moment if your 8800GT is not booting, but I dont gaurentee this will work..
Very nice, though this does mean, I have to find someone with a USB Drive as well as an available computer to flash the card I need to purchase since I don't have a second system.

Nirvana Bios
Looks Like a hidden Via Bios exists that lets you changes all sorts of settings.
Could someone Techy please try it and explain what it’s all about.
Thanks Javver for making this known in another forum.

Has this been tried/tested yet?
well it hadn't worked for me and the more I read that the more it sounds like a spoof post. F9 is the "load optimal settings" key, there never has been a Pentium 4.1Ghz processor, it shouldn't take several hours to "get into a BIOS" and the spelling is all over the place.
Red herring?![]()
I've just modified my 4coredual-vsta board with the vmods in the thread and everything seems to work good. I have a few questions before I actually start insulating the board and making everything ready for some - kick ass - AGP benching.
1) Has anyone figured out the vDroop mod? Vcore is swinging too much for me
2) Has anyone got a clear picture of the readout points? I've found both vcore and vdimm points, but haven't found the vagp and vtt yet.
3) Latest bios = best bios? I reckon not and probably should read through the entire thread to know the answer. What are the modded biosses offering more instead of the official ones?

Massman I'm gonna add you to messenger - will be able to point out all the bits you need
As for vdroop and vcore I recommend you see this:

I'm not really fond of desoldering resistors and capacitors even though it might be better. Isn't there a normal, easy way to modify the vDroop?![]()
