I'd say go for the expert, it has 4-phase PWM for your CPU.

    €:

can you geive me the exact stepping of your 3Ghz CPU?

Long live socket 939 Just had to be said I love my opty, even though it's really hot and won't clock over 2.7 on current setup, my UCCC went to DDR491 when I tried other mem channel and went with 9x multi instead of 10x. Anyone know if this is just luck or maybe 9x multi is stronger?

    chicks dig the s939...

my opty seems to top out at 2.86 @ 1.44v....I can boot into and hit pi runs @ 3.1 but cant get orthos stable.

She also runs real hot on one core (delidded with lapped TR 120ultra)...I am sure I need to re-shim the socket and reseat the HS...I am getting almost a 10 degree dif in temps btw cores @ load (#1 43c #2 53c)

How people are hitting 3.0 on air @ 1.4 is utterly amazing to me...I know I got a 3ghz chip...I just may have to watercool to get there

Hey, can anyone tell me what steppings are the 165's at newegg? I've ordered one on friday, or maybe two, not sure.

Gonna run it naked under ApogeeGT+MCW60(7900GS 650MHz)+MCR320. I'm expecting temps sub 40's under load.

    Do you have a pic?

1.392V says CPU-z ... but the multimeter? CPU-z says 1.328V but the multimeter 1.361V with 1.375 in BIOS.

    Your cooling?

Cpu-z is always off on mine. Smart Guardian is about the closest, but seems to be about .05V low.

Best to go with the bios or like yourself with the meter.

    Btw, congradulations, nice chip
