It's Intel way of doing. AMD used to be full of NDA and greedy to spare ES chip.
Moreover why the point of giving something now? Barcelona is out in around one months.

If there is a real reason for some type of Barcelona hush-up, AMD would do better to disclose it and build trust. It's too close for all of this secrecy when AMD is being Hammered (pardon the pun).

Intel would hide their results just like AMD if Penryn didn't out perform Conroe for example. Not taking sides here, please noticed I said the same thing when the question was asked.
