I know it's normal damnit. I thought I'd try to be helpful to Humble as it seems he needs reassuring rather than simply telling.

Hey guys !! I bought a gigabyte p35-ds3r mainboard but is too much vdroop !!! How Can I fix that ? anyone knows vdroop mod for p35-ds3r ?
*EDIT* I also made a separate thread for this, but wanted to put it here to keep the DQ6 info together as well - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...41#post2292141 *
I just got a p35-DQ6 and was having a problem with the onboard audio. Just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same problem or if it's something weird with my board. The info here about the Gigabyte Raid drivers causing BSOD saved me tearing my hair out once already (I had to switch to the JMicron ones for it to work).
When I'm in Vista32, I usually don't even see the "High Definition Audio Controller" under the System Devices in Device Manager. However, occasionally, it will show up. When it does show up, Windows does try to install the Microsoft drivers for it, but fails with the PNP problem code of 0x0000000A. I googled that code but wasn't able to find anything about it's meaning. I can install the Realtek drivers, but Vista never finds the Realtek chip. If I manually install the audio drivers, I can access info about the chip, but Windows can't start the device with "Code 10". I'm assuming this is because the HDA controller isn't installed.
Another thing I noticed, is that right after POST with the BIOS displays the PCI bus contents, there is rarely that entry in the list from Intel with the Dev_ID 0x293E which is the HDA controller. When it does show up, then windows does see it but fails as above. So something is preventing the ICH9R from always finding it's own HDA controller.
I also looked some places on the internet and saw people having HD modems conflicting with HDA. I tried removing my modem (it's older and still HW based instead of SW), but that didn't change anything. I also tried F3 (what was on the board), F4, and F5H BIOSes to see if it something going on there. I also tried removing my front panel connectors from the audio after reading the Realtek data sheet saying that some front panel audio connectors have bad HD audio connectors and tie the wrong signals together. No go.
So, something is preventing the southbridge from finding it's own parts. Any ideas? I also have a mail into Gigabyte about it, but they haven't read it yet according to their trouble ticket system. I have a sinking feeling I'm going to have to RMA the board.

I do OCing. Double boot when testing OC, it's normal. But in this case, it keep up doing double boot everytime when I cold boot the system/ boot from no power at all. But it's all right now. Since many people here say it's normal, I think I shall live with it then.
Thanks a lot for your concern bro.![]()
I think that's a problem mate, even it's just a small problem for many people. Worse state, there are peoples that have this double boot problem even they don't OCing and it happens everytime they restart or boot up their system.
No need to say it rude. I fully understand your objection and I now have received the condition of my board.
Thanks for your input too.![]()
Any p35-s3 owners around here? I'd like to hear there experiences.
How many fan-controllers are there?

That is strange. Gigabyte already has a minimum of 9 boards as it is, don't see why they need to add more versions to what they already got?? After a look at those links I assume the "L" is short for Layout change. Just like the "C" is for Combo Memory, and the "T" is for Terrifically overpriced DDR3 RAM?
Edit: Ah, I see "L" is also for "Lite"... DS3L vs DS3, the DS3L loses both Jmicron RAID and both Jmicron SATA ports.

Yup, I think DS3L version is even cheaper than original DS3 version because of the small heat sink and there are only 4 SATA connector.
I´m running my E6600 at 8*450 (3.6Ghz) with my new P35 DS4 board. My ram is PC5300 Crucial Ballistix and timings are 4-4-4-10. My problem is that my memory scores in Everest is much worse than when i used my old mobo (Abit AW9D) and ran 9*378 (3.4Ghz). Any hints on what to do or what the problem can be?
p35-ds3r is a s.hitty board , It's too much vdroop !!!

Hi,
I got some problems withs my p35c ds3r. First onei my vista ultimate crashes while shutting down. It freezes that moment evrytime. Since I formatted twicei ı Think it is becasue of something related to this motherboard..any ideas...
Second, there is a huge difference between the core tempereatures in programs such as everst, coretemp. for exalmple idle: cpu:38 cpu0:48 cpu1:48
load: cpu:48 cpu0:67 cpu1:67 three of them were nearly same with my previous p5b deluxe.
third, ı have two 1024mb hyperx9600 memory stick which I haven't managed to run them at 1200 mhz yet. With my old p5b deluxe and this board I couldn't run them at 1200mhz. no more then 1100 stable....
fourth, Right now it runs at 480x7 with f2 bios. Which bios is the best for highest fsb?
please help, thanks
Is it crashing or freezing at stock Kadir? If so then your OC is unstable. If stock then download and boot into Memtest86+ and let it run two passes to check your RAM. You may need to use "Option 2" under the M.I.T overclocking section in the BIOS. Until Gigabyte finishes adding things into their BIOS releases and getting other things working, I'd say use the newest official BIOS possible.

does the latest bios for the DS3R have the multiple slots for saving BIOS profiles like the DS3 did?
