I OC my rig, and after I apply the new BIOS setting, the system does cold boot. This is normal, right?
But the problem is... I usually unplug the power cord of my system when I don't use it and just plug it again when I want to use it. With BIOS seeted OCed, , if I power on the system, it does cold boot every time, ON - Briefly OFF - And ON again. Is this normal?

FYI, if I don't unplug the power cord, the problem doesn't occur.
Or if I run the default BIOS seeting, the problem also doesn't occur.
I previously have P965-DS3P board, but this problem doesn't occur. Cold boot only occur once when I apply the new OC BIOS seeting. Not like this new board.
I have tried new F5g bios, but it doesn't help.

Please P35-DQ6 users, share information about this problem. Does every board of this kind do the same or just my board? I have to make sure if my motherboard isn't defect to decide whether I should RMA it to the distributor or not.

Thanks a lot before for your kind reply.
So... Does anybody else encounter same problem as mine and brother Gaspimp? It's also known as double boot problem from a cold boot.

I just wanna know if what happened to my board is a normal condition.
    Please share more everybody.
    Thanks before.

it's in the Intel chipset design to set straps and co if you alter settings or cold start, I had the same as with the P5W (975), P5B and now P5K Dlx...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

YES all the new intel chipsets do it! It is normal depending on what settings you change in the bios. Now can we please get back to solving real issues, like why some memory subtimings seem to be unchangeable in bios.

Guys...is 2.35V on the memory safe?, i don't have active cooling. My memory is now set to 1134Mhz (1066 standard 2.2V). I've done some testing and it seems stable, but voltage/heat concerns me.

Has anyone got the Corsair PC2-8500C5D kit to 1200MHz?

2.35v is too high for passive cooling in my opinion. some even would say 2.35v won't bring guaranteed results for more than a year even if active cooled.

My friend ran some gmh at 2.32v actual for about 2.5 months without active cooling (although I'd imagine his aircooler should have at least brought a slight draft of air by the area) and it started having posting issues at 1.8v, requiring "jumper sticks" to get to use them after a failed overclock. By 3 months, one of the sticks died. He went single stick as he waited for new sticks, and a day before the new sticks came in, the single stick died.

I wouldn't go above 2.3v with active cooling if you want to keep your ram for a while.

Realtek sound problems. I installed the Realtek drivers from the Gigabyte CD-ROM, and when I play the 3D Audio Demo on a pair of bud ear phones, the L and R are reversed. If I use a larger set of headphones, the L and R are correct. I tried this with 2 pairs of large and 2 pairs of bud size headphones and both bud size headphones are REVERSED.

I just installed v1.7 driver from Realtek and the problem persists.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Anyone else find the onboard sound on the P35-xS3x a little bass-less?

I gave up on it and chucked an Audigy into my PC - I haven't heard such lack-lustre onboard since my S754 MSI K8N Neo-FSR (and I'm pretty sure that was just due to a fault)

[EDIT] Yeah so I had another go with the onboard and it's because I selected HEADPHONES in the driver panel that my sound output was terrible, so stick to the "Line Out" setting

Hey is the GA-P35-DS4 a good board for overclocking the Q6600? The P5K is about the same price.

Has anyone had trouble when the monitor goes into sleep mode, then wakes up and displays nothing and flashes the green power light? I know the OS is running and not crashed.

I have trouble even getting a display on post. I have to reset the bios and hope for the best. Sometimes it gives a blank screen and flash power light halfway to loading windows. I cant use monitor power saving only screensaver.

I think its the mobo. Although it in theory could be the graphics card or the monitor too.

Its the only issue I had (apart from e2160 having lw fsb wall of 395fsb), but its quite a show stopper.

Reminds me of my dfi infinity nf2 pos, but at least my board holds an overclock.

OK! I wonder wilkl I have issues just dropping my Xp install from DS3 3.3 into a P35 DS3 board. I reckon I might be ok after I install P35 drivers first and then do the swap? I remember when the S3/DS3 came out first it was nearly impossible for people to slipstream drivers etc ... everyone needed a fresh XP install.
