Swiftech releases new block for NVIDIA GeForce 8 series

New swiftech waterblok , compatible with all 8800 series

Swiftech releases new block for NVIDIA GeForce 8 series

Named after the famous Stealth fighter bomber because of its angular shapes and black livery, Swiftech's Stealth is a VGA water-block designed exclusively for nVidia's high-end GeForce™ 8 series graphics cards. At the time of publication, the Stealth is compatible with the 8800 GTS, GTX and Ultra models.

    The ultimate GeForce™ cooling performance:

Using the same core cooling technology as the Apogee™ GT and GTX CPU water-blocks which are recognized as the best performing water-blocks on the market, the Stealth unique design approach focuses cooling where it is most needed: at the GPU level; with its extended wings covering the memory modules and NVIO chip, the massive aluminum housing also maintains the lowest possible temperature of these surface mount components; this allows in effect for the most advanced overclocking techniques which are necessary to take core and memory frequencies well beyond factory specifications.

    From the Swiftech Website:

The housing is CNC machined out of billet aluminum and receives two plating treatments for a lifetime protection against corrosion: electroless nickel plating (MIL-C-26074E grade B) and Zinc Cobalt plating (ASTM B 840-99 grade 6). A black die is applied after plating strictly for cosmetic appeal.
    looks good to me

already a hot discussion going on about this block in the liquid cooling section.

but i have to say i would have preferred that they would have made the whole block from copper... well we can't have everything can we

    Eddy's blocks are just beautiful.

I still don't trust the coatings, aluminum is aluminum. I'd rather have peace of mind, then worrying about how long the coating will last.

    I love this block.
all the benifits of full cover... and the benifits of a direct core cooler as well.
finally, a block that suits me.

I am not a fan of permanantly modifying videocards with ramsinks at all... so I like this alot.

    ah... never mind...

    I just saw the price.
at $110... I'd rather just get a EK block.

this block should be like $75 or so.
seems to be made of cheaper stuff, and a much cheaper design...
in fact, it looks like if you already have a MCW60, you could just order the top shown here, and remove the top of you MCW60, and put the bottom right onto this new block...
so it looks like a very small change in design for them... just a addition of the heatsink surrounding the core really....
overall.... this doesnt seem like its worth the extra $60 over a plain old MCW60 after you really look at the design.

this thing is just way to expensive for what it really is...

actually the base plate is pretty much copied from apogee gt or gtx block.. so basically this is MCW-60 gt or gtx.

With that volume, it will be very heavy if whole made from copper.

im assuming no water runs within the ram-areas? so why not make the top out of delrin?

the blocks "ram area" is supposedly designed to dissipate heat. so derlin wont do. if you look carefully you can see a row of thick fins on the sides.

Still need RAMsinks for the MOSFETs. Not ideal.

THe I/O chips gets covered but not the FETs? Riiiggghhhhttt....
