    is there anyway i can make it not install the audio driver? it keeps killing my xfi and windows goes haywire.

    Go to device manager and install it via selecting the inf (in C:/ati/'thedriverfolder')
    I think it will only install the video driver.

    on the 8.38 RC 2, you have a page where you can choose component and what will be uninstall.. just uncheck what you dont want.. I hope this will be available on next drivers.



    Or after install go on devices manager and uninstall it.. ( you can too just go on software and uninstall the driver.

    posted just upper on the pages .. other version too higher on the thread ( RC7.0)

    One thing: on each driver of ATI you can choose what component you will install... ( i was forget this...)
    If you don't want HDMI.. choose personalised on the type of install, then uncheck HDMI.. on first reboot, disable the devices in manager of windows.. ( like have been say higher..)

    got problem w/ 8.38 RC 2... cant support 1440X900 60hrz on LCD
    but it run on my CRT, try some benchies, got low score 11K on 3dmark06

    heres my prev result w/ the old driver

    with 8.38 RC7 i got 11650 marks @ HD2900XT STOCK CLOCKS

    CPU: E6600@ 3600mhz
    VGA: Sapphire HD2900XT @ Default Clocks
    2Gbs Cellshock 6400 @ DDR2-800mhz 4-4-4-12
    SO: Windows XP

    Nvidia already released a new VISTA forceware today (158.45) , ATi/AMD have to move .....

    Performance Improvements

    OpenGL performance is improved on the ATI Radeon™ X1950 XTX at high resolutions (1920x1200 or greater) with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering enabled. Doom 3 and Quake 4 improves as much as 13-18%, and Prey improves at least 15.6%. The ATI Radeon™ X1950 Pro and X1650 XT also sees improvements in Doom 3 and Quake 4 of up to 14.1% at higher resolutions with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering enabled.
    ATI's Folding@Home

    Folding@Home is a distributed computing project designed by the Stanford University. The application performs intensive simulations of protein folding. This simulation will help researchers uncover how certain diseases develop. Folding@Home uses distributed computing to simulate protein folding, the workload is broken up into small work units and distributed across hundreds of thousands of computers over the internet. You can help find the cure to many different diseases!
