yes lowfat simple is good.
btw you should try elevating outlet of res so it is higher than inlet of pump...
its safer that way, prevents your pump from running dry, unless your pump can run dry and has some sort of high sucking power.

GPU waterblock: EK FC8800GTS Acrylic
Pump: Laing D5 Vario "3" speed setting
Radiator: Swiftech MCR220 w/ 120mm Yate Loons D12SM-12 running at 7V
Resevoir - Swiftech MCRES Micro - Pentison G11
When the res is full, water flows right into the pump. It is only a few millimeters lower than the pump, it just looks lower in the pictures.
I also think it is more important that actually the water level in the reservoir is higher compared to the inlet of the pump. And that´s given here.
Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless. Like water. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash.
...be water my friend

You are my idol Bundy. I love your builds, your work, and the attention to detail you put in. Not to mention, you're one of the few sane German's that doesn't swear by 1/4" tubing.
