my 3 stager! (update page 5, -143ºc for now! :D)

hi ppl my 3stager project start finaly!

it will be a 3stager cascade, maybe r410/ethylene/r14

i want the sweet point of cooling conrroe

    1º stage :

    compressor n13 from this page:
    http://www.chinagmcc.com/product/swage-x2c.htm

    13 000BTU
how mutch this is in horsepower +-1.5 ~ 2hp right?

i'll use condensor to condense 1st stage and desuperheat 2nd and 3rd stage!
and this fan to cool condensor and compressors!

    stay tunned

13000 BTU depending on the average heat rating for that btu would probably be just over 1hp.

    Refrigeration Basics -

Long ago it was found that we needed a way to quantify heat. Something more precise than "less heat" or "more heat" or "a great deal of heat" was required. This was a fairly easy task to accomplish. They took 1 Lb. of water and heated it 1 degree Fahrenheit. The amount of heat that was required to do this was called 1 BTU (British Thermal Unit). The refrigeration industry has long since utilized this definition. You can for example purchase a 6000 BTUH window air conditioner. This would be a unit that is capable of relocating 6000 BTU's of heat per hour. A larger unit capable of 12,000 BTUH could also be called a one Ton unit. There are 12,000 BTU's in 1 Ton.

I bet your new rotary does what you need it to do.

Sounds fun and evil... lol... looking like a good start...
More I think of it lately, it might be just cheaper to build cascade base on cheap AC unit out there than to start new one from scratches -_-; (granted the noise doesn't kill you ;P)

Arggghhh, you first started your 3 stager ! :p I wanna be first, hehe

Yeah, Ricky, I would try with other gas in I stage instead R410a, don`t know cooling capacity of R410a, but I think gas with just little bit higher boiling point would hold load better.

r410 works good as long as you got a enough big condenser.. that's often the problem with those small units. to small condensers.

you are thinking about the nature.. a RoHS classed compressor

    -130 load maybe impossible,
anyway, take a look on lukexe awsome autocascade/cascade, -130 idle -115load on -55 to -65 range on hx right? on -95ºc hx maybe will have some gains on r14, so it must dont be hard to get -13x idle

r14 boils @ -128ºc right? on -95hx and good compressor maybe can work on vacuum, but only my ideia, no tecnical basement! as always, trying will tell-me!

anyway the ideia will be to cool an conrroe, not for pics, i'v seen some with cold bug arround -110 i'll test

skirms_fr, i'll like to get more details on that cascade, any links?

my ideia to test r410 is becouse condensor and compressor seems to be ok for that.

    |RickY| maybe you will make a autocascade on 3 stage (r14 and argon mix)
    maybe r14 and crypton??

Duniek, a r14 argon mix WOULD NOT be an autocascade.
There is science to the argon r14 mix thats a bit hard to explain, Ricky i added your msn, I'd love to chat sometime.

In an r14 argon mix the argon does NOT condense.

Hurry up my friend, these new toys are ready to jump to your new CPU cascade..

I'm sure my partner in bench will managed a cpu cascade with the X6800 "sweat spot" : around -120ºC load temperatures (the cold bug frontier)

With the 2 8800GTX on Ricky's good old SLI cascade, we may get interesting results

Party almost ready to begin - gonna be fun and entertaining as always was my benching sessions with Ricky

i remember someone getting angry and saying that a 13000 btu window ac is exactly 1 hp.

the argon thing cryo-tek was talking about on the polycold build.

It can! just because theres a chart between Btu rating and HP rating doesn't mean there exactly on. What im saying is a 1HP compressor can range from 10000Btu's to 13500Btu's. It just depends on the size of the compression parts inside the compressor and how its built.

From what i have learned these numbers can be trusted:

    5000-5950Btu's-1/3HP
    6000-7500Btu's-1/2HP
    7500-10000Btu's-3/4HP
    10000-13500Btu's-1HP - 1 TON
    13500-16000Btu's-1 1/2HP
    16000-20000Btu's-1 3/4HP
    20000-24000Btu's-2HP - 2 TON
