Have you played with this board? I'm a bit dissappointed to find the DS3 didn't have the R designation for the chipset...no RAID for Jod. I guess I shoulda paid a teeny bit more attention there, lol! So now I'm left in a dilemma of boards. The new Abit looks nice...

You can run Raid 1 0r 0 through the Gigabyte controller.

Only 2 drives supported, but its there.

TBH intel should include raid support in all of their chipsets, thats a fairly basic function these days, and has been supported by nvidia & other chipsets for years. (on ALL sata ports)

Is there a big different between bios F3 and F6 ? I'am running now at F3 and i don't have any problems. Keep F3 ?

no i havent, and i dont need to if it is made by or carries the Asus name it is instantly stuck in the trash in my eyes.
i have no want or need to buy or play with one.
i am tempted to buy a P5B Dlx but i know for a fact from others results its not going to get me any further ona 9x multi than where i am right now.
and i am not that concerned with dropping the multi and cranking the FSB. gaining 1 sec. in 1m pi is a very small thing that i am not concerned with. know what i mean.

oh im sure they will the only problem is that with the C2 chipset coming out now or in the next week or whatever... you andme and the other DS3 owners are really gunna feel shafted.

i for one, if the results show alot of good results will sell this one,, and get a C2 but only if alot of people show its worth it.

It's not Intel RAID tho. Anyone ever work with the JMicron JMB363? Can I add a drive, create a mirror, and rebuild? No data lost?

Actually the only reason I'm looking at that board's cause of the ICH8R. I suppose the new Abit board would fit the bill too.

Sent to me from gb-tech support a week ago, so i guess that makes it unofficially official.
Surprised its not out yet, makes me feel like a guinea-pig.

Still no bios updates?...see this is what happens with Gigabyte, they end up releasing bios every like 4 months after the initial board release period...so we all have to suffer for months!

I'm got a big problem here. I think others have had the same problem, but I couldn't find a solution. DS3 won't recognize my ide hdd (which has been verified to work) or any additional ide hdd for that matter. I've got 1 sataII drive and 1 ide drive. However, when I try to add the ide drive, windows displays the drive as "unreadable". Anyone come across this?
