Even more if overclocked. Its not desirable to run above 80% capacity.

With this kind of budget I'd be looking at 1.2kw Otherwise it will be very hot and noisy under load.

The 4870X2 wasn't out yet, so it would replace the 2 singles. Other than that, I can't see how it would get much better...maybe drives and RAID card.
