I'm going to set the cpu @ 3.0Mhz and maybe after Xmas I'll order a newest CPU. What about a Q6600? xD
If the CPU is running stable at 400x8 leave it - with FSB 400 you get to run the memory at its specified speed and the bandwith is okay. It wont die with 1.525v anytime soon and you temps look okay. If you check the P5W thread when everyone was running E6600 you will see plenty running on higher volts quite happily- even if you clock isnt as high as other as long as you are below 1.55 and prime temps below 60 it will be fine. Remember you dont hit prime temps during normal application and game play running.
Q6600 are now cheaper than when you bought your E6600.They are good for about 3.6 on air with a better cooler - 4 core =lots of heat!. later batches just seem to be getting better http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=1446 Lower vids and higher initial clocks - fun.! For a cooler I would recommend the ultima-90 much smaller and nearly as good as the 120 extreme. well I would as I have one-lol! But they do work well especially with an sflex or panaflow fan - high CFM. I cant use a 120mm fan on it as I havent got the case width due to having a 250mm fan on the side panel but I will prbably buy a sythe kama 92mm to try soon
